As always, Marianne’s is a delight! Though, I’ve never seen their parking lot so empty. Maybe we came between the rushes?
It’s all take-out, right now, and they get enough customers that, even this time of year, they ask that you not eat the treats in the parking lot.
I was having a hard time deciding what I wanted, and my son was having a hard time remembering what he had last time. The girl behind the counter was super helpful and talked knowledgeably about the various flavors, and even the popular combinations. We were both super happy with our choices!
If you haven’t been here before, definitely check them out! And if you haven’t been recently, come back! Ice cream is good at soothing stress, and good ice cream is better! Marianne’s is the best! And the whole world could use a little stress relief right now.

A Santa Cruz favorite. If you are in Santa Cruz, this is a must stop. I love their coffee ice cream. Service is fast too.
Same delicious ice cream served to-go from the window, and they accept/prefer credit cards now. Pictured is a Double Junior Waffle Cone with 10-20 and Cookie Dough.
I love Marianne's Ice Cream and their milkshakes. It's super easy to order on one window and pick up on the other during Covid. Very friendly service and a huge lust of ice cream flavors...
Place was crowded as usual, beautiful day, picture perfect for ice cream. Contrary to what others said, no one was allowed to taste any flavors, staff was still friendly. We were disappointed as no one could go inside either. Quality is still outstanding but the experience you want is lacking.
If you want a Santa Cruz classic, then you’ve gotta try Marianne’s Ice Cream! So many flavors that are to die for, but my favorite are their cheesecake selections. They also make a mean shake. Highly recommend!
