Johnny Rockets

They've really changed over the years. Quality of food has gotten really low; cheap buns, cheap cheese (gritty), fries changed and are really bad compared to their fries of 10 years ago. But service was outstanding, which is why I gave them a second star. Unfortunately, I don't eat service, so this was my last visit to a once favorite, weekly visited, restaurant. Johnny Rockets is dead.

I went with a friend mid afternoon on a Monday. They were not busy. Only 6 customers including us. My friend ordered a burger and I ordered a Pattie Melt. We each also ordered fries and shakes. First I was surprised that the fries had to be ordered seperately. The burgers came and while my friends looked fine, my Pattie Melt was two pieces of red with a very small hamburger patty inside. It didn't come close to filling the bread and definitely needed at least one more beef pattie to make this anything other than a cheese and onion sandwich. The fries took a long time and came after we finished our burgers. I guess it was fries for dessert. Fries were cooked to a nicely to a good crispiness. They were just OK tasting in my opinion. Shakes were good. $42 with tip. I won't be going again.

Rather disappointing! I’m from out of town and whenever I’m here I always enjoy sitting down to a burger at this location, but not tonight. I walk in 40 minutes before closing time and I’m told that they’re not serving seating areas, only carry out. Many times I’ve been here and enjoyed the experience, but tonight I ate at Chipotle!

I used to eat here quite frequently, but the service has really disappointed me recently. On my last (3) visits, the entire restaurant had only 3-4 tables with people eating, so it wasn't too busy. The wait staff is friendly, and mostly young, but need help with how to better serve their patrons. First, after sitting, we need a menu; and I'll have my drink order ready right away. That seems to go okay, but once you have a few minutes to decide what food or entrée to order, 7-10 minutes go by before the wait staff comes to take your order. When you only have :45 mins-1 hour to eat, that consumes too much time. Next, when the food comes, you may have to wait a very long time to get a refill on your drink, which I need at least once. As I said, I'm usually time constrained. Overall, the food is good, and the wait staff are friendly; but they need help in taking orders quicker and returning to tables to refill drinks. I will try it once more, and hope the results are better.
