Kappo Sui Restaurant - Santa Ana - Photo album

Excellent traditional Japanese dishes. Also high quality sushi options although sushi is far from their specialty. When available, definitely order the grilled sea eel (Anago). I also love their homemade cold dipping udon (Inaniwa) which is thinner than standard udon. So refreshing in the summertime
This is Japan. It's like a Japanese restaurant by Japanese for Japanese. The grilled mackerel is juicy and savory! You can have more white rice.
Friend brought me here for lunch. Everything is excellent and service is great. We had an appetizer that was fried rice cake in broth. Never had it before but it was amazingly good. I also had one of the best katsu-don ever for lunch.
Low key, delicious authentic mom and pop restaurant. Food was delicious and reasonably priced and convenient. I had the grilled eggplant (probably my favorite dish), Amaebi (sweet shrimp), with fried head, and agedashi tofu
This is really authentic Japanese food place with a casual setting and delicious, fresh sushi. The grilled fish and ice cream we had was spot on as well. the chicken karaage is seasoned perfectly and very juicy, best I've had in OC.
Fantastic, authentic Japanese food. Completely unassuming looking place that I decided to try while staying nearby. Really glad I did and will be back. I was feeling pretty hungry so decided to try a range of items. I ended up taking up a couple of spots on the counter when all my food came out
Enjoyed Japanese dishes that I normally don't see on the menu all in the same restaurant around here (e.g. mochi in soup, agedashi tofu). Service was really good. For each item we ordered, we've had better versions elsewhere, but still good to have all at one time. Didn't try the sushi/sashimi howe
Great homey feeling. Udon are the best. Tempura are freshly fried to order, Light and tasty. Traditional sushi are available. no special catch of the day. Staff are friendly. It feel like a typical sushi bar in Japan except it's a lot roomier. Great place for set lunch.
The food is great! Not just the taste but the decoration, I would like to invite my friend to come with me.
Wow! Very delicious Japanese food! My favorite so far! Thank you for doing great work!
Amazing kinki, soba and udon. Tempura and unagidon was also great!
Fast, tasty, Japanese hidden gem! Lunch menu is tailored for speed and quality. Two old guys run the kitchen and it's clear they've been doing this for a lifetime. Simple lunch and dinner plates and clientele is mostly Japanese. Classic foods like udon, inari sushi, pickles, miso soup. The broiled f
Authentic Japanese everything. delightful hard working server. delicious mackerel lunch special. priced well. limited menu until January... but i loved all of it. aces.
I had Chicken Karaage with steamed rice and Edamame with a ice tea. The food was great and it was great watching the chefs put it all together. Great spot across the street from my hotel.
This place is totally a legit Japanese Izakaya. Old school. Like really old school. The inside decor is 80s/90s with drapes and carpet. I am told by Japanese colleagues that the food is very authentic and home-style. The owner (I think he's the owner), smokes outside the front door and wears flip fl
So yummy. Like being in Japan. So few places have fish collar and chawanmushi. The daily specials are all in Japanese on a pen board. Almost everyone is speaking Japanese. The team is so hard working! Make a reservation. I made a rookie move and thought I could walk in @ 530pm on a Thursday. They we
The sushi was so fresh and melted in your mouth. Obviously they have high quality seafood here. Service was very cordial and the owner is a fun personality. The place was very busy and the fact that most were Japanese says a lot about the fare here. It does not have great curb appeal and does no
Long time coming here. The food is spectacular. I recommend starting with a spinach salad, then try different items off the menu, but don't miss the butterfish with tofu (I always forget the name. There are two butterfish dishes, so make sure its the one with tofu). The sushi is good, but I come her
