On a Sunday evening, I found myself craving Indian but also wanted something healthy. While scrolling through the infinite possibilities online, I lock eyes with 'Curry Up Now' and decide to order almost everything off their "Popular Items". Everything was INCREDIBLE. Is it wrong if I order their samosas two days in a row?
Curry up now is an interesting take on fusion Indian food. Some of dishes are pretty close to ideal taste & flavor while some others are fusion with other countries food. I have been thrice to San Mateo branch and once at San Jose.
I like the selection of food, their preparation and serving size. I also think among other Indian places, this one comes pretty close in terms of flavor and aroma.
Where they lose a star? I really think their service and customer orientation needs improvement. In San Jose branch, the waiter won't come well after we settled in. In San Mateo branch, they won't care to explain the dishes well. In San Mateo, the worst thing to happen was in middle of my dinner the store manager took 2 seats next to me and started playing loud videos on his phone while eating. I won't test customers that way!
I had the tiki masala burrito. Absolutely delicious. I will be back to try the other items they have.Very delicious flavors and unique Indian style burrito.
Cool place for Indian delicacies! Preparations are pretty authentic from the taste perspective. Size of servings are absolutely large for the normal stomach too! :-)
A mini bollywood in San Mateo. The food is desi fusion with awesome combinations. Kudos to the chef for coming up with lipsmacking recipes and wonderful names!!! The samosas are amazing and so are the kathi rolls. A must visit place in San Mateo for all spice lovers.
Fantastic! Super innovative. The decor is wonderful and the food is delicious. Fusion of Indian and Mexican cuisine and really innovative ideas. It's so quirky and interesting - nothing matches but it all seems to work. The food was delicious!! I can't wait to go back to try everything on their menu!

Okay, so if you are a person who is willing to satisfy your taste buds with a treat, DO NOT listen to the review below. Curry Up Now offers menu items that are innovative and new. You'll never see anything like it. But basically of you love Indian food and love to try something different, you'll definitely want to check out this place. I ordered the burrito which had Indian tikka masala and basmati rice and some other Indian stuff, all wrapped in a tortilla. It costed me $8 and was so big I had to split it with my brother. To me, that was a pretty good price to pay for lunch. And, it was sooo bomb! My advice is to give that place a shot.

This is a food truck gone brick and mortar. Order at the counter, then select a seat in the contemporary interior furnished with sleek black tabletops that match the unusual menu choices displayed chalk board-style on the wall. The menu blends ethnic Indian street food with Mexican dishes--think chicken tikka masala burrito, kathi roll (a wrap consisting of a whole-wheat parantha flat bread stuffed with, perhaps, egg and paneer), aloo paratha quesadilla, sexy fries (cross-cut sweet potato fries topped with tikka masala), deconstructed samosa (a mushed-up samosa with chickpeas and teeny-tiny mini samosas mixed in). This is a very creative business, the way they created the fries being pretty much a samosa over on top of the potatoes with the peas, curry, carrots. Everything was screaming the hella vegan burrito 🌯 dessert with the natural spring water. The dessert with Ghee, lentil base….. I’ll be back here. Definitely recommend if your in San Mateo.

Excellent take on Indian fusion cuisine. Dining venue and atmosphere was hip and welcoming with plenty of seating and accomodations- long tables, more intimate 4 seating arrangements, and outdoor dining as well. There was plenty of COVID conscious measures to keep patrons safe and healthy. Hand sanitization dispensers were available throuhout the restaurant. The food itself was excellent. Menu has a large variety of options to choose from for all types of foodies, with plenty of vegetarian options and other health conscious options. The dishes we had were very flavourful and had a variety of spices, great for sampling different things to please the palate. Their mango lassi was creamy and fruity as expected; good stuff! Their fusion meal we had was plentiful in portions and was exceptionally tasty. Experienced a range of flavours I hadn't before which was nice. If you're looking to explore more tastes and reacquaint yourself with those you're familiar with, this place has what you need. Staff were wonderful and very patient as we all order. Give this place a try if you're in downtown Redwood City/San Mateo!
Delicious Indian comfort food that hits the spot - especially when I'm looking for a big lunch. I love their Hella Vegan burrito/bowl and their samosas, and the thalis (platters) are really good too. Excellent vegan options - nothing bland or boring. Is this authentic Indian food? I have no idea! I do know it's delicious though!
As some of Pakistani and Indian background, curry up now is a good experience. The chaat flavor combinations are not at par with other traditional chaat shops but it gets the job done if you live around the San Mateo area. The Papdi chaat has good flavor and I would recommend a little more crunch. I felt the flavor combo for the deconstructed samosa was a bit strong but it’s also delicious with chicken. What I would recommend here is the tandoori chicken sandwich and the lamb keema pav. It has just the right amount of spice, aroma and fun experience. Most of their food is halal but not all so if anyone eats only halal meat, ask them in advance.
