1919 Cafe is a really nice place to have lunch when spending a day at Huntington. Emphasis on spending. Don't get me wrong, everything is scratch made with high quality ingredients in generous portions, so it's less painful than stadium or theme park prices. It's setup food hall style (that's fancy talk for cafeteria). There are four stations serving made to order entrees. The first is sandwich and salad. The second is Mexican. The third is pizza, and the fourth is burgers. Fair warning, the stations close at 4pm even though the cafe is open until 5pm. Speaking of the fancy vibe, there is also a full bar. Finally, there is a grab and go section with cold sandwiches, snacks and drinks. My wife and I were recently gifted an annual membership to Huntington and have begun to visit as often as we can. Based on our first couple of experiences at 1919 Cafe I can confidently say that we will be treating ourselves to lunch there more often. I recommend the tostada bowl. We had the carnitas which is the most popular option. Beautiful presentation and really delicious. Fun Facts: -You don't have to buy a ticket to Huntington to go to 1919 Cafe. Access to the first courtyard all the way to the Cafe is open to the public. -The Cafe is named for the year The Huntington was founded. -They serve vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and kid friendly options. So, if you find yourself at The Huntington and want a kinda fancy casual lunch with a beautiful view I recommend that you give this place a try.

Lots of food options. As you walk in the food area there are a lots of sitting inside & outside always empty tables as they clean them fast . When you walk inside you can see the verity of food selection from Mexican food, fish , chicken, burgers, veggies, fruit, coffee tea and more options available. It’s all made fresh and you can request a special order if you have and food allergies . Was very surprised to see lots of options for the kids too . Very recommended

Not exactly the cheapest cafe around but given the location, they serve decent food. They don't really have any hot foods that are readily available (I think you have to order in advance?). In any case it did the job and what they did have was fresh and healthy.

I enjoyed a nice lunch with my daughter at the 1919 Cafe. It was a nice break from touring the beautiful grounds of The Huntington. We both had a bowl with carnitas, black beans and rice with homemade coleslaw and salsa on the side. Everything about the dish was fresh and really tasty. The staff was very friendly, food was great and the cafe atmosphere was enjoyable on a beautiful summer day! We will definitely enjoy the 1919 Cafe again on our next visit to The Huntington.

Confusing, inconsistent and chaotic ordering process. Food is subpar and overpriced. Ordered the black cod and it was fishy. The grilled veggies had the same fishy flavor. Portion size of the fish was laughable, a couple of bites and I was finished. My wife ordered the chicken chipotle rice bowl which was good, but nothing spectacular. Captive venue restaurants are usually up spectacular, but I was expecting more from the Huntington.

The food is great, just expensive. 😶 Everything I had was delicious! This is not a typical cafeteria, there is a full bar and chefs that are crating your meal together.

Looking for very good food while at The Huntington? Got to try 1919 Cafe. Fresh dishes abound and they believe in an environmentally friendly eatery. Yeah, you will pay 'museum' prices, but it's worth it. One great thing about it, though, is you don't have to pay to be in The Huntington to visit this Cafe.

its a little pricey - that said though you get some quality food for your coin. I've eaten here a few times and I've usually gotten the burgers and fries. Enjoyable meal. Atmosphere is pretty open with large seating area. You can also eat outside. They do a good job of keeping the food choices high quality. I think anything on the menu would be tasty. I did try a deli sandwich as well and it was delicious.
