Finally! A mixed Latin/Mexican restaurant with a very different menu, but more importantly exquisite flavor. Must have: Dulce de Puerco. Yuppie clientele savoring and experimenting the exotic drinks and fusion of Caribbean/Mexican food.
What's more San Jose than Indian food for lunch, right?
Reasonably priced homely halal eatery featuring lots of South Indian dishes and some North Indian food too. Quite spicy biryani. Butter chicken and tikka were very rich and filling. Best deal is the lunch combo. The gulab jamun was lovely.
6 minutes walking distance from the San Jose Convention Center.
The only place that's open beyond midnight!! The food is always freshly prepared after your order. So think twice before ordering something like idly!! Takes a really long time to be served.
Taste - Good & as the food should taste.
Quantity - Always more than expected.
Cost - Cheap
Love their coffees.
Hate the way they make sambhar, chutneys and curries very watery. Wonder if this happens only during late nights though!
Definitely will visit again.
Pretty good food. Portions are good for one sitting of a150lb American male, no left overs, $14. Your biggest issue will be the lack of bussing. The rate of table cleaning I observed was less than 10 tables per hour and the turnover is higher than that. During my visit 10 March 2014, five groups sat at 5 tables I observed to be dirty with curry smear and the like. 3 ate and left and more at in thier place. There is nothing to indicate the soup is complementary, like an utterance from the cashier or sign. And generally the place is mildly dirty. If that doesn't bother you, it's pretty good.
Cheap, tasty Indian food. While you are waiting for your order, you can eat some of the free (very tasty) soup, as well. They have great butter chicken, tikka masala, and garlic naan. There's enough for two meals in each order, so you can either share or save leftovers for your next meal. Even if you're not on a budget, Dosa & Curry Cafe is worth checking out, but especially if you are.
I love this place, they have good combos/ excellent Naan/ hot soup. Good Space ( its a 87 seating capacity room).
Try out the dosas and the biryani - iam sure for the price and the place its worth the time and choice.. :)
One of the most authentic Indian Cuisine, I have had in ages... A complete nostalgic feel swept past me throughout the entire time over here... If you are craving for some authentic South Indian Cuisine, this the place you should be at... This place might come across to a few to be a bit shabby, but I would say please don't judge the book by it's cover... I recommend this to everyone, if they are interested in experiencing the true south Indian flavors...
We had a plain dosa, paneer keema dosa, chicken biryani, naan and kadai paneer... The biriyani had super cool rice, and well cooked chicken pieces... The Dosa, were just incredible... Crisp with superb sambar and chutney's on the side...
The place has quite a lot of parking space
Best option for late night Indian food. Especially vegetarian options. Students get 10% discount upon cash payment.
Majority of thier food items are just great amd its the only Indian place in southbay which is open till 2 am.
The building itself is very plain but the food is good, reasonably priced, and the service is friendly.
awesome food. great hours. love to walk aro7bd the university and have their Beriyani.
Good restaurant.. love it, mainly because it is open late night..
