Dalva

Walking in from a great comedy show at 10:45 p.m., it takes a second for your eyes to adjust to the dim lighting. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there's space towards the back of the long skinny bar for your group. I ended up sitting facing the door, which means the projected screen playing... Something old?... Was behind me. I probably would have been distracted by it if I'd been facing it. I had a Paloma and it was pretty good, strong and not too sweet. It fit the crazy conversation we were having on top of it, which is to say it was loud but not too loud to be incredulous at your friend. Not my favorite bar, but definitely not one to avoid, either.

I passed through Dalva only to stumble upon a back end integrated bar called the Hideout. It was kinda dark, but pretty chill. We got to hang out upstairs in a red light attic corner with a handful of small tables & chairs. Cocktails were decent. This is a great late night bar for dates or small groups. Will be back soon.
