Petit Marlowe has a legendary oyster happy hour. 1.50 per oyster and a bottle of wine for 25. What a steal.
They have great service and a good selection of oysters. They recently, well a few months, added other food such as Panini's and other appetizers but still a great spot for a date or even on your own.
We had a perfect evening at the bar here, mid week. Very busy and noisy too, but a pleasure overall. The service was outstanding, despite a quirk in ordering (one dish we did not order appeared once and we explaIned we did not order it and when another server brought it again we just accepted it, to avoid a fuss). Very welcoming and helpful. Everything we tried was so delicious (burrata, ricotta, deviled eggs, anchovies) and the server helped us select a wonderful bottle of wine. We look forward to our next visit!
Phenomenal meal from a passionate team. A definite must when visiting the Mission Bay neighborhood!
Cute place not too far from Marlowe. I really enjoyed the seafood platter, the deviled eggs and fries. Dish sizes are small so we ordered some extra appetizers in the middle of the meal. I also recommend the bread and butter - delicious that we ordered 2 more.
Wonderful experience! A southern french charm with a uniquely fresh menu. Our waitress made all the difference as she brought her opinion, knowledge, and personable style to each customer.
The oysters, prawns, escargot, beet salad, and beef tartare were all her recommendation with the beef tartare stealing the show.
Intimate, friendly, and worth spending an evening here.
You would think the concept of a Parisian bistro would be easy to reproduce—there are certainly enough good ones in Paris. But it's not, and many of them are bad. Petit Marlowe is great, and you should go immediately. The food is great, the ambiance is exactly what you want—friendly, noisy—and the servers are helpful. Among my favorites in San Francisco.
I am so into this place. The vibes and the food are on point. Very cute decor. The ceviches are very garlicky good. Anchovies related dishes are plentiful. Devilled eggs recommended. Oyster selection is extensive and service is knowledgeable and attentive. Classy place for a date!
EDIT: 5 months later... The classy vibe for date spot is somewhat gone from busy saturday nights. Since they implemented happy hour, giant swarms of really loud inconsiderate people have come and made the tiny restaurant unbearably loud. I'm talking clubbing level of noise. I would recommend going on off hours to avoid these types of people. Oysters, food, wine quality still of high caliber.
Nice place and good seats food. The seafood plater is very tasty.
