I've been to so many Japanese restaurants, include Japanese own a Japanese restaurant, chef is Japanese. I believe this place is Korean owned which is fine. other restaurants like Japanese fusion restaurants, I say pick one and stick with it but if it's Japanese over Korean, they don't mix J and K. they still serve kimuchi but never have kimuchi nigiri. Japanese dish is all Japanese food. not like spicy essence with it. I had beef upon and 2 rolls. I wasn't happy with those 2 rolls, well I guess when I review sushi, I should judge on nigori not rolls. those rolls are taste like funky american style, salmon halibut and slice of lemon. lemon juice for Japanese food, yes but slice of lemon in Japanese food??? no. based on beef udon, I'd say it's definitely top 3 Japanese restaurant in bay area on my list. I tasted all same that I had udon in Japan. I really enjoyed udon. servers are pretty much an asian restaurant I the u.s.. they never come to table to see everything is ok unless you ask something like forks, water etc which I like that way. other than that, one thing. if you drive, it's hard to find a parking spot around the neighborhood. I really enjoyed food I had this time. I really like the space, really cozy. I was lucky, no noise other customers on Sunday evening. I definitely give 🌟🌟🌟🌟 for this place. I'll definitely come back. one of my favorite Japanese restaurant I bay area. I'm strange that when I measure Japanese-Ness for Japanese restaurant is how often I need to use napkins. this place, almost none. super Japanesey Japanese restaurant owned by Korean in outer Richmond where I recommend to people who crave real Japanese food in the neighborhood.

Good food. Quick service. Clean. Bento box was good. Fresh fish. Hot house sake was not my favorite. But everything else was good. Beef teriyaki was even good and tender which can poor quality at sushi place sometimes.

Great quality sashimi and great service. I usually get the chirashi here and they give just the right amount. It's usually not that crowded, so you shouldn't have any issues getting a table.

Beautiful atmosphere. Was completely empty when we went in on a Sunday evening. I got a bento box with teriyaki beef and chicken and it was fantastic! The salad has a great Asian mayonnaise dressing which I love. They have mochi for dessert, but at $4.50 for 2 pieces I can't condone it.

Our go-to sushi restaurant in the Richmond district. Huge selection of sushi and the menu also includes bento boxes and other non-sushi items. The food is always delicious and the ambience of the place is great, 4 stars because the service is a little slow.

I used to go to Little Toyko multiple times a month when I used to live in San Francisco. I make it a point to go back every time I'm back in San Francisco. Little Toyko is a hidden gem in the Richmond district. It may not have the glam and glitz like some newer Japanese restaurants, but don't let that fool you. The food and service is amazing. It is family runned and it definitely shows through the care and attention to their guests. In terms of food, I've tried most of the rolls and sushi on (and off) the menu. I never had a bad experience with any of my choices.

From the outside, looks like the kind of authentic, family-run restaurant you'd see walking around Tokyo, but unfortunately our meal was extremely bland. Agadashi tofu had no texture, nigiri tasted supermarket quality and served too cold.
