I love this place, I’m a frequent customer cause I live in the neighborhood. Favorites include, lamb vindaloo, daal, and chana masala with paneer. Onion naan is also phenomenal, amazing Indian food.

Tried Tilak for the first time when a friend bought some takeout. The staff was friendly. The Chicken Curry, onion naan, and rice were all good. But Butter Chicken was awful, sooo sweet!
I don't think I would want to order from this restaurant.

Came here on a Friday evening around 6 pm and was seated right away. We were promptly greeted and seated and asked whether we wanted ice in our water.
We ordered the following: Aloo Tikka Chaat Bites, Gobi Mussalam, Chicken Tikka Masala, along with Lemon Rice, Bhature, and Garlic Naan.
The stand outs for me were the Bhature - best to eat while still hot. It was so airy and delicious. I used it like a pocket to eat with the items we ordered. Their chicken tikka masala was very creamy and flavorful but not too salty. You can pick from four levels of spiciness. We picked level 2 which was not spicy at all for me. But I can handle some spice.
I don’t think I would order the lemon rice again. The naan had the perfect amount of garlic. Next time I will just stick to the naan and Bhature.
We had plenty of leftovers as there were only two people in our party. Parking wasn’t too bad because we came on the earlier side. There was a steady flow of patrons and some purchasing take out but it never got crowded. Staff were all wearing masks.
Would definitely revisit this neighborhood restaurant.

This is my new favorite Indian place in SF!
I like to challenge myself to always try new ones and I’m working on my 11th Indian place in SF and I must say this one is in my top 3!
They were generous with the amount of meat in the curry, the curries were very very flavorful and the garlic naan and mango lassi were on point!

best indian food i’ve ever had! i came with a few friends for dinner and the food, service, ambience, etc was amazing- food especially. the staff is very friendly and nikita kept track of our order so well even though there were eight of us. the mango lassi was delicious and the dahl puri chaat is a must for an appetizer. the chicken tikka was also amazing and the lamb korma was out of this world. we ordered everything mild and the spice level was perfectly balanced with all of the other spices in the curries. my friends also loved the butter chicken and coconut chicken curry. the naan and rice and all very fresh. overall this place is a 10/10 and the best indian food in SF.

Tilak is an unassuming local spot with lovely food. We ordered the lamb rack, chana masala and garlic naan and all delivered on flavor and texture. The service was good too. Overall, a great place to come for a casual dinner or for weeknight takeout.

Decent ambience and taste. Ask for Desi spicy if you want the spice the Indian way (although I felt it was weirdly spicy as if someone sprinkled over an already prepped gravy). Breads were all the same and didn't like them at all - felt undercooked and flour-y.
We had Dal Tadka (4), Saag paneer (4), tandoori roti (1), garlic naan (1). Weirdly the roti and naan tasted the same
