walked by the bar and went inside. great place to sit and to do a pint (or 2) from 3 till 7 (pm) there is a happy hour(s). Not expensive and you will get real pints!

5,500 miles from home and we wondered where to get a good pint of Guinness... Bar Nua! Quiet lunchtime pint (or two), barmaid had one Irish music CD and kindly put it on for us. A very pleasant hour and a half slipped comfortably by. Will head back there on our next visit to SF.

PRO-Tip: they have live music, probably on Fridays.
Great prices for drinks and good atmosphere. When I went there was live music which was like a one man Dubliners style performance. It's located between other bars and recommended if you are bar hopping to enjoy a reasonable priced drink and nice bar staff.

I don't like giving negative reviws. Sorry to say. I went to this place based on it's ratings. The place was dead which should have said something, the drinks were average very disappointed. We had a Moscow Mule, Vodka Cran, and Two Old Fashions. Although the old fashion had a double pour, it was very disappointing. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. The place is average.

We were here at a pretty quiet time - early afternoon on a Saturday. Friendly bartender and reasonably priced drinks (especially vs. the North Beach Festival prices, which is happening this weekend). 3 TVs with the Giants game on. Good place for a drink.

Bar Nua is a fabulous Irish bar on Columbus street in SAN Francisco. The food was amazing and Deirdre was very welcoming. The Guinness was the best I have had! Absolutely fantastic.

This place really surprised me! Good food, good ambience with live music, good drinks. It's perfect for a casual date night or to just hang out with friends in a chill atmosphere. Their fish and chips are delicious, you should give it a try!
