Izakaya Sushi Ran - San Francisco - Photo album

Expensive for the amount of food you get, but some awesome dishes and great selection of alcohol/cocktails. A lot of people come here just for drinks by the bar. MUST GETS: salmon belly, stuffed chicken wings (they're like lollipops, no bone in the middle!), pork belly, karaage chicken, laminated b
The bottom line first - It's an enjoyable culinary experience, made with top-notch ingredients, with ups and downs along the way. More "ups" so worth a visit. Be prepared, this is not a cheap dinner. The menu is almost suspiciously short, but I took that as a good sign, and you can tell that every d
this place is so good i will just have to come back again and again . creative cocktails made from small batches of independent distillery. although the desserts are a miss on the flavours but the mains are soooo good especially the seabass with crispy fish skin on.
My dinner party and I had a wonderful time at Nomica. We ordered beet zuke salmon belly , miso black cod, lettuce cups and several cocktails while waiting for the star of the night... The whole chicken in brioche. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. The chicken definitely won us
The food is great there and the service is good even though they are new. The food style is Asian fusion and they don't have the traditional Japanese dishes. A little pricey but the quality is good.
One of my Favorites ~ Superb cocktails , great Japanese Whiskeys ... outstanding service , colorful audience , atmosphere —- and tasty cooking and set-apart dishes . Worth a try ;-)
The food was good! There’s a chicken with bread dish (forgot what the name is) which looks really good — definitely going back to check that out next time.
Japanese Whiskey! Yes please. Such great service by the bartenders and wait staff. Live the new menu at Izakaya Sushi Ran! Don’t forget to be like Popeye and order the spinach salad, sooo good!!!!!
Loved the environment and most of the dishes (especially the salmon belly!). Friendly service in a modern environment!
The restaurant is cute and not too loud. Service was also pretty good and attentive. The waitress had good recommendations on the menu and we ate pretty quickly. The king salmon is very good. Great quality and fresh. The pork belly was well cooked and had a nice sauce to go with it but I would have
Really impressed with the food and cocktails, in fact compelled me to write my first Google review. A lot of thought clearly went into the flavors and ingredients of each dish and cocktail--all of which were refreshingly unique and creative. Portions are the right size for being able to move after y
We actually really enjoyed this place. The location is a bit odd, as the Castro is not exactly known for its sophistication or refined restaurants, but the experience was excellent. We sat at the bar area, where they serve the same food as the rest of the restaurant, but you don't need a reservation
My boyfriend and I went there a few Fridays ago, and we really enjoyed both the food and the ambiance. One star knocked off due to high prices for what you get, but the food was overall great (we recommend the miso glazed salmon, the crunch roll, and the mochi dessert) and we really liked our cockta
Food and wine selection were amazing, super attentive waiters. I'll be there again soon!
The whole chicken in brioche and the mushrooms are definitely worth the trip. Too bad it's gone forever!!
