I have been to many restaurants around the world but nothing feels like Esperpento. There is something really special about this place, the food, the atmosphere, the service. 10/10 experience every time I have visited. I highly recommend it to anyone in the SF!

Delicious food! Ate pescatarian and loved the meal! We at the grilled artichokes, the red snapper strips, and the potato/onion/egg pancake thing. All were soooo good! Then we had the vegetarian paella, a lot of food for two people! It was delicious and happy to take home leftovers. Would definitely return!

I ordered a grilled salmon, which was pretty good. The mushrooms soup was really good too. I thought the cabbage that came with it was cooked, but it was actually like a side salad, which was ok. All in all, I would return again.

I don’t even want to leave a review because I don’t want anyone else knowing about this secret gem. This is just always a 10/10 for price to taste and just overall value. My only complaint (and it’s so small but worth mentioning) is that they leave the artichoke spikes on their grilled artichoke dish which is definitely a culinary no no. BUT I would eat here every day for the rest of my life and die happy.

When we want to visit another country, the first thing that comes to mind is to enjoy its culinary gastronomy. I have had the opportunity to visit Spain and learn about its culture and food, to be able to give a humble opinion. Esperpento, is a nice place, with very attractive decorations, the music is not typical Spanish music, perhaps because most of the clientele is not. Their food is not with the authentic Spanish flavor, however, it has good taste. The prices are a bit high but the ingredients they use in their food taste of good quality. The attention is good, a good service which could say that the issues of prices you pay for service and quality of ingredients. Unfortunately, I had very high expectations since I wanted to try again that unique Spanish flavor that makes you feel like you are in Spain again! You can go try Esperpento, it's not a bad option, but it's not that food that reflects the beautiful and delicious Spain!

It was my first time trying Spain food. I tried squid ink seafood paella and mariscada. I like marriscada than another one but both were deliciousious and flavorful. I'd come here again and try other dishes. Loved it. !! They charge 4% of credit card fee !!

After my fabulous trip to Spain I wondered if I could find good paella. I found it courtesy of my Northern California Camino group! We capped off a day of hiking in the city at Esperpento located in the heart of the Mission. I enjoyed the savory veggie paella and the group ordered appetizers along with sangria. We sat in their outdoor seating area. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome food and service. Really liked the paella here and the bread with sauce provided for free. The decor could improve but then again it kinda feels authentic. Will recommend others to give this one a try.
