Cathead's Bbq - San Francisco - Photo album

You know those restaurant's you walk by and just smelling the food makes you gain weight?? Well, this is one of them! Comfort food at its finest! Everything is good! Yes peeps, I've tried just about everything on the menu! My absolute favorite is the biscuit and "Coca Cola" brisket. Double B'
Just around the corner from SLIM’S. Perfect spot to go eat before a show. The brisket is cooked perfect, the Mac n cheese is delicious . Overall make sure you order their cat head biscuits, their has big as a cat’s head. The jelly that comes with it is makes them even better. The customer service wa
Might not have the prettiest plate but don't let that fool you, the BBQ is delicious! We tried the brisket sandwich and ribs with Mac n cheese. Both meats are cooked to perfection, the brisket melts in your mouth and ribs are flavourfull and juicy! Mac n cheese was okay. Hospitality was great! 👌🏽
The best traditional bbq in SF. This Texas style with that rich smoke that you will carry with you after you leave. I’ve done everything from the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. I’ve heard that you judge a bbq spot in their brisket and I didn’t think it was perfect. No saying it was bad but it’s no
Delicious food. Fun little location. Docking a star because it was less brisket than I was expecting in a $19 plate and because the biscuits were comically small. We liked the brisket, the link sandwich, the collard greens, baked beans, and the habanero slaw. I'd go back and I recommend it.
Where Big Nates used to be. My first San Francisco visit in 1996 brought me to Big Nates BBQ and since them I am hooked. Big Nates closed but it's place has been taken by Cathead. The quality is excellent. I tasted chicken, brisket, ribs as well as the sausage, and all was tender, tasty amd perfectl
Excellent BBQ!!! Good portions. There isn’t much good BBQ in the Bay Area in my opinion but this place is excellent! Super nice people! I had already eaten some then decided to take a picture. Ribs are great, tender and gall off the bone. Brisket is marbled, “fatty” which I like. The pimento Ma
Great atmosphere and music! Friendly staff. Food arrived quick. Huge portions, well worth the price. The ribs were good, habanero slaw awesome, pimento mac creamy and delish. The watermelon sweet tea is an absolute must!
Boy oh boy, BBQ!! This place was down right awesome. We could tell from the moment we got in line and got a nice big wiff of that smokey BBQ smell in the air. Came here around 12pm on a Friday during lunch rush and the line did pick up but it doesn't take that long to get to order. We ended up orde
Tried the pulled pork and brisket. The pork was tender had a very unique sauce that added a lot of flavor but did not overwhelm the meat. Try the habanero sauce with this! The brisket was cut thick Texas style and was the appropriate level of tenderness, it had a nice smoke. I also had the collard
Off the chain crazy good smoked foods. They have to smokers inside. Love the decor the staff go the extra mile to make you feel right at home and are very knowledgeable. Homemade biscuits are the bomb.
Good value for the food you get in a cozy setting. The barbecue is authentic and their biscuits are as big as you can make them while still having that light crunch on the outside and still be baked and fluffy on the inside. I could eat their sweet tea BBQ chicken every day!
I enjoyed the pulled pork and smoked lamb shoulder. The mac & cheese isn't to my taste, but I prefer baked mac & cheese made from sharp cheddar. This is mild but they do include some pimento peppers to add more flavor. I really liked their lemonade mixed with unsweet tea!
One of the better BBQ spots in the city. There sides are pretty good too, Mac n cheese, bbq baked beans etc and banana bread on point. There's parking on site and there right off the highway in Soma edge of the Mission. Friendly service and good selection of smoked meat, sides and specials. Home mad
Saw this place on Diners, Drive Inns, & Dives and just had to try it! The chili mac n cheese was terrific! The cathead biscuit was yummy! The Coca Cola brisket was tender and tasty! The honey baked beans were delicious! I can honestly say it was well worth visiting! A bit pricey but what isn't price
Yum! Compared to SmokeStack in Dogpatch, this place is stellar & deserves 5 stars. (Giving 4, since I've had better in the southeast coast.) The BBQ is delicious. Tasty sides, including Mac & cheese and a flavorful mustard slaw. I wish their biscuits were bigger (super tiny). The sauces are deliciou
Yummy. So good. My coworkers and I come here often and never regret it. Great BBQ sandwiches and plates. I recommend the collard greens side.
I had the chicken BBQ sandwich. The chicken was tender. The bread was fresh. I didn't know it would be covered in slaw but it really wasn't bad. I'm giving this one three stars because nothing really stood out except the biscuits. The mini biscuits are &1 and are a must!!! The biscuit cones with hon
