It's expensive, but always good. The specials are often really tasty -- I've had some excellent sandwiches there. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with some interesting sculptures on the patio outside. Service is always friendly. All of this makes it worth the extra cost.
The outside terrace of this cafe instantly transports you to Europe. On a sunny day, the shade from the trees and the statues gives you a relaxing and sophisticated feeling unlike anywhere else in the city. Also, it is very spacious and often not crowded. We got a cappuccino and an apple tarte. Both were delicious! Tip: The first weekend of every month is free for Bank of America card holders.
The food was really delicious, which I appreciated since there is no other option for food if you are in the museum! The only downside is, it's expensive. Really expensive. I highly recommend dessert!
The Legion of Honor Cafe has food prepared by MaCall’s Catering. They offer lunch sandwiches, entrees and afternoon snacks such as dessert tarts & cookies. If you are inclined they have wine too.
The chocolate cookie I bought for my afternoon snack was crisp outside; chewy inside. Tasty. With this being the only food purveyor, you don’t have another onsite option.
The service is excellent! I’m familiar with one woman who I’ve seen all the time I visit. A regular staff member is a treasure.
Glad the cafe is open again. Limited hours & capacity until the City opens restrictions.
Stop by & enjoy some lunch, wine or tea amidst the greenery & sculpture which you can see outside. Alternatively enjoy outside on the terrace.
As someone who comes to the Legion of Honor more than a few times, I can say that this is one the more delightful places to visit for a coffee or a small bite. Situated in the beautiful Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, the cafe offers stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the surrounding area.
I was surprised with the amount of options the menu presented us. The cafe offers a variety of salads, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as a great selection of teas, coffee, and other beverages. The food is always fresh and well-prepared, with great attention paid to quality and presentation.
In addition to the food, the Legion of Honor Cafe is a great place to relax and unwind. The peaceful and serene setting, combined with the museum's stunning artwork, make it the perfect place to recharge and enjoy some quiet time. It's a great spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco and enjoy some of the city's natural beauty.
Overall, the Legion of Honor Cafe is a hidden gem in San Francisco that is well worth a visit. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, a leisurely lunch, or just a quiet place to relax, this cafe has something for everyone. I highly recommend it!
I really enjoyed my simple meal of fried chicken, corn on the cob and a small mescalin salad. Lots of chicken in a superb crispy crumb coating. My companions had the Vege Burger and the Lentil/coucous salad and they enjoyed theirs too.
No Cell phone coverage at all unless you pop out into the courtyard.
it's a nice place to eat, if a little pricey
Surprisingly good for a museum cafe - both the short, inevitably healthy menu as well as the cheery service
A nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee, a break from gazing the master pieces of art work, chatting with friends, and maybe some desserts or salads.
I had the most delicious quiche called the Tonto's quiche with wood amoked bacon and other ingredients. I would recommend going her instead of any other café for lunch as parking in San Fran is always a challenge. Prices are quite reasonable.
I had a most delicious salad at the museum today. It was full of kale and many other interesting ingredients- fruits, seeds, cheese, veggies, etc. I would gladly eat it anytime!
