The food was great cant wait to back again so i can look around at some other restaurants.
One of many
One of the many seafood places at Fisherman’s wharf, serving lots of dishes mainly centred around crabs, food was ok, place was busy and not really a relaxing place to sit and eat
Have you ever tried to find cheap sea food in San Francisco? And do you want to have delicious ones? So, it's the right choice! No need to sit and eat. Take your calamari and enjoy the seaside.
Bowl Me Over!. I have had a love affair with new england clam chowder for some time. Fresh succulent clams, small hunks of potato, rich creamy broth - my mouth's a waterfall just thinking about it. Put this elixir for the gods in a sour dough bowl . . . . heaven!! Forget the oyster crackers. When you are finished with the chowder, eating the bowl is a fabulous bonus. So good I devoured a second bowl and then proceeded to slosh around until I had traversed the Pier enough to walk some of it off. You don't have to overdo it like I did, but you can't miss trying a bowl while you are there at the Pier.
Fresh Steamed Crab!!. Go early when the seafood is fresher! Order a crab and walk around to the other side, where you can stand and eat it there!! Beware of the seagulls!
Grab and Walk food. The clam chowder is great and well priced! Then they had FRESH steamed crabs with butter. you can go wrong with grab and walk..
I liked the variety that The Crab Station offered on their menu considering that it is a food stand, and I would have eaten more if I had more time in the area. As it is, there are many places to eat at Fisherman’s Wharf & Pier 39 and not enough time to try it all on a quick visit to San Francisco.
Posted on September 15, 2010 by julia521 This has been a chaotic day, starting off in New Orleans, then stopping by Denver, CO to end up in San Francisco, CA. My visit started off with a to do list of over 100 items. Just kidding, my own list wasn't that
Considering I’m from Maryland the food was good. Definitely needed some seasoning. The Dungeons Crab and shrimp was fresh but some seasoning needed. My wife had the Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl. It was very good. My son had Corn Dogs and curly fries. He was content. Not enough seating. Only outdoor seating and it was 48 degrees out by the water. I wish I had gotten the Lobster Roll. Everyone was saying how good it was.
As fresh as it gets when it comes to seafood. Right on fisherman’s wharf, so you can expect a crowd on weekends but during the week it was empty with a lot of curb side seating. $32 was more than reasonable for the loaded lobster roll I ordered. Really tasty and a great alternative to the same kind of sandwich you can get in many other places. The accept card but definitely appreciate cash.
This place speaks chinese. They give off street food vibes. The food is not very pricey. Calm chowder worth my money. If they heated up the lobster sandwich it would have been better.
The food is delicious, seafood and chips, their main signature dish is clam chowder. Fried shrimp are my favorites, in my opinion the food is very tasty. the atmosphere is familiar and it is close to several shops and attractions
Delicious lobster roll with loads of large chunks of lobster and just the right amount of mayo or sauce to pull it together. Served with lemon and hot butter on the side. Fish and chips (curly fries) were good too.
This place feels like you’re eating local even though it’s located right in the middle of a tourist area. The prices were much cheaper than most places and the portions were a good sized. The shrimp roll was loaded with shrimp, just wish the bread wasn’t so hard to bite into and cold. I wish it was like toasted or with butter on it or something. The crab was reasonably priced and was super good!
If you are looking for value, it’s really a great place. We got two fresh large crabs, fried squid, and shrimp cocktail and juice. All for $74 + tips (versus other restaurants around $65 per crab).
We assume the reason the review isn’t perfect for this restaurant is just because of the environment as it’s a bit small.
Will definitely come back again!
The crab station is a tourist trap but since we’re in Fisherman’s Wharf, we are going to try the seafood and this place is probably cheaper than other places here. We got the lobster roll for $32. It came with plenty of lobster, the bread was cold and a little hard to bite into. But I found myself enjoying it more and more as we ate it. In the end, I was pretty satisfied with my meal. I wish the bread was tossed in butter and toasted but this is a fast business with long lines, so I get it. There are other less expensive options like crab sandwiches which look around the same size as the lobster roll. Would come here again to try other stuff!
Fresh crab, outdoor seating, folks that work there seem to be having a blast. A SF experience.
Best service around! Super friendly and the chowder was to die for!
