CLOSED PERMANENTLY
We planned to dine here on Saturday 25 June 2022. Another group from the East Bay, who arrived when we did, said that this was their favorite sushi restaurant in San Francisco so my 5* rating is based on that group's rave reviews of Kaisen.
Sadly, we were all greeted by a letter posted on the door explaining that Kaiser Sushi CLOSED PERMANENTLY on 21 June as they were unable to agree with their landlord on the terms of a 10-year lease.

Very small, very great. The waiter was very kind about my allergies. The food was wonderful. The sashimi was so good we had to order a second round. Not suitable for large parties but the coziness made for a peaceful dining experience. If you go, try the butterfish sashimi (wow!)

Amazing sushi, terribly slow service. It wasn't very busy but it still took 90 minutes to get our food served after ordering.
The fish and the presentation were among the best I've ever had, though.

A bit of a hidden place, but it certainly is a gem. Sushi came out quickly and was delicious. The calamari we got was alright.

Went for happy hour, 6 dollar wine and 5 dollar hand rolls. How can you beat that? Our server was so sweet. Also very generous serving of wine. Just go you won’t be disappointed!

Try their sushi and sashimi combo! Their rolls were ok but the combos were really tasty!

Food was decent but slow to serve, I went to a really slow time between 1:30pm and 2:30pm and either way took them a lot to serve it, the fish was not overdue but not fresh and the roll was more avocado then fish, little disappointed.
