Roy's Restaurant

We lucked on this place looking for an early dinner. The happy hour offerings were terrific. Cheaper beers and wine plus great oysters for a buck and pumpkin dumplings for the same. The platter was great value with two each of corn fritters, duck buns,sweet potato crisps, chicken skewers and spare ribs and some root vegetables. Classy setting and friendly service. Great fun watching the locals come in after work and meet up at the bar for cocktails. Bartender is worth watching also.

I’ve been to Roy’s all over the country and the food at this particular visit did not disappoint! My swordfish was soft and flavorful and our sushi starter really hit the spot. Everyone had a great meal! You should definitely expect San Francisco prices but you do get great food for your money. Our service was pretty good, they were attentive without hovering. The one downside for me was that even though it was very spacious, high ceilings, and there was no music (as far as I could tell), it was still extremely loud. It was so echoey that voices created a loud din that made it hard to converse with the other people in my party. If you’re looking for good seafood definitely stop in, if you’re in the mood for conversation maybe keep looking.
