Caffe Greco

I've been a fan since the mid-90s. I would ride my motorcycle from the Richmond District to NB for coffee with my buddies. This was a regular occurrence, 2-3 times per week. It was a great way to entertain on first dates since the restaurant options were plenty. Thirty years later, my wife and I enjoy the infrequent trips downtown to NB. But Greco is always our cafe to visit. I still ride my motorcycle here on the weekends to meet my brother, but there is no longer any motorcycle parking. This really sucks.

This place only takes cash. Amazing European Vibe. We ordered coffee, cheesecake and tiramisu. I didn't had the coffee so wont comment on it although my friend said it was good. We loved the tiramisu and cheesecake as it was not too sweet and was fresh. We also wanted to get Sandwiches but they sold out so we were lucky we got the cheesecake and tiramisu. Would definitely love to come again.

If I could rate it above 5 stars, this cafe would definitely deserve it. I've lost count of how many times I've been to this cafe. It was my favorite place when I lived in SF. Even though I don't use cash, this cafe is cash-only, so I always made sure to have cash on hand to come here. The staff are all very friendly, making this cafe a really comfortable place to be. It gets busy during the day on weekends, but it's usually quiet in the evenings. They offer Wi-Fi and have power outlets, so it's great for people who want to work or study. Many people were also reading books. I used to work on laptop or study here until 11 pm. The area around is lively, so it felt safe even at night. I wish I could come across a cafe like this again...

A very charming - cash only* (ATM on-site) - caffe in the heart of North Beach. It’s a great spot for a routine coffee and with lots of indoor and outdoor seating it always has a decent amount of people. The staff is very friendly, prompt with making drinks/food, and it’s a staple in this Italian Neighborhood.
