Love this place. It never disappoints. Wish I knew their secret on how to toast the rolls perfectly every time.
Tornado special: turkey chorizo meatballs spicy pesto and Gouda cheese. Topping bacon & sausage add some onions.

Rustic has become one of my 'go to' places for food downtown. Their menu may seem small but everything they serve is so tasty it doesn't need to be any bigger. If you are ever unsure what to order just ask the chef what his current favorite is. He's never steered me wrong. They have a great atmosphere to dine in or you can call for take out. I recommend anyone who is spending time downtown to experience this little gem in East Village.
Awesome place. Great for meat eaters and vegans alike. Always come in for the vegan meatballs in spaghetti. Great vegan subs, awesome staff, and cool atmosphere. I'm surprised this place isn't bumping before and after the games at Petco park. Its a shame. This place (again) is 100% San Diego greatness. 10/10
Great meatball shop and for those working downtown, it's a bargain at lunch. It might be a the cheapest place to eat for the money in an area that is usually over the top expensive. They have vegan options and you can get a variety of sauces. If you can't decide, ask the owner, he's always helped me get to the right choice.
Found a place that served meat and it isn't a bar! They do have craft beer but not a bar! I got the 3 meatball and spaghetti. I wasn't expecting much but I could barely finish! Best place in downtown. 1 of the 5 places I'll miss when I move.
Awesome food, chill laid back vibe, and the owner Loris is a very friendly and sincere dude. The chorizo meatball is hands down my favorite one here. Would highly recommend.
Excellent food, and vibez! Friendly staff, and a relaxed atmosphere. I also like the art that people drew on the walls. I highly recommend anyone who comes to visit San Diego, to check this awesome place out.
Tried it for the first time it was really good for the price I paid for a meatball sub and a pop. The meat was fresh and aromatic with herbs and spices with great homemade marinara sauce on a warm toasty bread definitely gonna bring the kids here to try the place for themselves.
Before i ate at Rustic, i was suffering from lower back pain, decreased libido, and type 2 diabetes. After one bite of The Bear Choice, the back pain was gone! I'm still diabetic, but I'm going to come back and try everything on the menu until that clears up. But seriously, the food tastes amazing and I need to do something about my libido.
Fantastic food. The HERO sub is so dope. Meatballs are made fresh there and you can tell IMMEDIATELY after biting into one of their subs. Haven't tried anything else yet, but I'm SURE to come back.
Discovered this place walking by before a Padres game. Great meatballs and nice little beer selection. Very reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere. I will be back!
