Most underrated restaurant in San Diego! Their take on Cajun/Creole food is not traditional but arguably better. Amazing flavors in all of the dishes. Value is very good too considering the large size of the dishes. Vibe is cool and casual with good beers available as well.

I had the House (all seafood) gumbo at Spicy Level 4 and it was amazing. The flavors and ingredients were quality. The portion size for the bowl is more than enough to feed 1 person. Definitely well suited for 2 people. I was happy to see actual crab shell with meat in my seafood gumbo. One of the examples of this restaurant using quality and real ingredients. I will definitely have to come back to try other dishes. I left feeling full as can be with a warm belly. I've heard that this restaurant has been open for just a couple months now and I shared with my group that this restaurant looked well experienced and neat. Good job staff and chefs for making this an awesome restaurant!

Looking for authentic Cajun food...this is your spot! My family and I stumbled across this restaurant while visiting San Diego. We truly found a treasure in The Dive. I had the Soft Shell Crab Po’ Boy and, thankfully, my family was a large enough party to order lots of other menu options for tasting. Every dish was delicious: shrimp & grits, gumbo, wings, calamari, all wonderful. I also highly recommend the brussels sprouts. Punctuating the quality and taste of the food was their welcoming, warm and attentive service, including the Head Chef Sov, taking the time to stop by our table to say hello. Best of all we learned they have a location in Los Angeles which we will certainly visit. You’ll be happy you made this your dining choice.

The food in this restaurant is amazing!! I had the shrimp and grits as well as the sprout salad. Both absolutely phenomenal!! Other members of my family had the gumbo, one of the po'boys, chicken wings and etc. It was all wonderful! The bowl of gumbo was enough to be shared between 3 people. The service was great too! Kudos to the chef, Sov, for allowing us to have such a fabulous dining experience. The next time I am in the area, I will definitely return to The Dive.

My family and I had such a great experience at The Dive over our holiday weekend trip to San Diego. The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. To top off the excellent food and a great waitress (Keyla), the chef (Sov) came out and spent at least five minutes talking with us. He spoke of his passion for cooking and making people happy. He seemed as happy to meet us as we were to meet him. Thank you Sov! We will be back on our next trip.

I was visiting from out of town and I stopped by here and ordered some food for takeout. I got the oyster and shrimp Po-Boys along with the salmon salad and two orders of chicken tenders. The food was delicious and the service impeccable. In the future I will probably dine in.

We started out with the shrimp and grits, very tasty, buttery and the bacon bits on top brought this appetizer together. For the main course I had the Soft Shell Crab Po Boy and it brought me back a little to New Orleans and was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Jambalaya which was good, but a bit interesting because there rendition had cloves in it which my wife doesn’t like, but still are in it and liked the flavor despite the cloves, trust me with my wife that is saying a lot :). The service was excellent and our server was totally on top of it. I would recommend this place and am dying to try their Gumbo.

Came here for lunch...it was not that busy. I ordered combo pan roast, steamed clams and mussels, $1 oysters. Its hard for me not to compare this place to the Oyster Bar at the Palace Station in Vegas...since its one of my all time favorite restaurants. Tbh, this wasnt that bad. I actually like this combo roast better than Ritter's in OC (Ritter's is more on the tomato-y side). The downside of this combo roast is: the seafood quality is mediocre; small portioned, small in size, and it didnt taste as fresh as i would like. The steamed mussels and clam was delicious. The sauce that it was cooked in was amazing. You get a side of bread to dip in the sauce, too. I also got a half dozen of oysters at $1 each. It was tiny!!!!! I actually prefer smaller oysters, but these were half the size of kumomotos! Overall, i did enjoy the food here. I'm glad this restaurant took over the previous seafood restaurant.

I was not disappointed in coming here. The environment was very fitting. The customer service was great! Everyone was so helpful and quick! We started our meal with the Sprouts. Sweet and crispy with a great excess amount of bacon. I wasn't expecting the cheese but it's such a great balance! Next the soft shell crab po' boy sandwich came. The fries were so delicious!! The seasoning, the crisp, everything about the fries was amazing! Just the perfect amount of salt also! The sandwich itself was well worth the price. It came with a whole soft shell crab on each half. (So two crabs total). The bread was soft and the veggies on the inside was fresh and light! It all balanced very well! Last was our Ciopinno soup. It came hot, and with an abundance of seafood. All the seafood was definitely not over cooked! It was perfect! It also has linguine noodles at the bottom which were cooked very nicely. It wasn't too salty at all which is perfect! Because I like to decide on my own how much extra salt I would want to add for soup. The broth is a watery broth. Not thick or creamy at all, but tomato presence is definitely there. I will definitely be coming back!! Especially for the sandwich!
