I highly recommend buying tamales here at Rubens. My family and I are very critical on tamales taste and these are so delicious. Best tasting tamales ever 😋 I can't eat enough. These tamales are the right texture.

Been a true customer for many years and I am 64 years young!!! Went last week and bought 5 dozens pork tamales at $12 plus change per dozen and was very disappointed at the lack of meat on most of the tamales...To the owner please do whatever it takes to make a 50/50 meat and masa ratio...You have always had the best tamales in town and beyond you owe it to all your customers that have supported you throughout the years!

Did not disappoint! We ordered Chicken, Pork, and Jalepeno Bean and Cheese. We couldn't wait to get home; we ate a few in the car before taking off. Great delicious tamales! Will recommend to everyone!

They are usually very delicious but last 2 batches of pork tamales we got had very, very little meat and lack of coloring/flavoring like they were having a bad day. The corn masa was delicious! Barbacoa tacos REALLY sucked! The tortilla was beautiful with barbacoa jerky. Won't ever order tacos from here again. Bean tamales were very messy, but good

Tamales there are good but if you want good customer service don't expect much. At least that was my experience with an older black gentleman with some gold rings and gold watch wearing all black. I walk in stand by the register waiting for about a min as the man looks at me like he's waiting for me to wait on him and says, "yes?"i replied yes i would like some tamales and quickly gestured his hand like what and asks well which 1s,i tell him and and gets them from kitchem window as there are stacks of them ready. I asks how much is there rice and told 3 dollars. Asi noticed they have breakfast tacos i asked about how long and replied "well not fast they cooked fresh they are eggs and gotta be cooked". I replied i was just asking because i haven't been in here in long while and he replied with, " not like McDonald's where we just open a tray and it's ready. So i just got the tamales and made tacos on my own after I've just gotten out of work and wanted something quick and ready. So again only 2 starts because tamales are great tasting but customer service still left my mouth with a bitter taste.

A bit late with this Review, but we have been buying Tamales from Ruben's for the last 12 years! The Pork and Jalepeno tamales are fantastic! We love them!

Christmas Eve 2020. Showed up at 6:45 out by 8:15am. Was not a good idea to beat the crowd and go early. The line was literally around the block...Not around the corner, but around the block!. There was no direct sun at 6:45. It was freezing. When I was driving away about 8:20 the line was around the corner. So it would have been better to show up at 8:20am when it's warmer and the line is shorter. They control the crowd by limiting how many people go inside the building. But once your in, your out in a few minutes. They have masks and following all safety precautions. The people behind the register seemed very friendly. I did this for my daughter. I would never do this crazy stuff for myself...lol. Update: Not sure if I was given old tamales. But when I got the first one out the Masa breaks.. I know that's a sign of dry tamales. And yep very, very dry, the meat is not strands. It is like polvorized. Almost looks fuzzy. The corn husks were pieced together and messy looking. I just don't see what the hype is about. Sorry but I'm honest in all my reviews. I won't change my star rating because it might be the Christmas rush and tired employees.

Good size tamale, flavor good, but a little dry. I did go towards the end of the day. I will have to go a little earlier.
