Overall, my experience was good. The classic margarita was delicious and the food was good. It took abut 15 minutes for a server to come to our table and it was clear service was hectic. I was with a group and we were told the check could not be split greater than 2 ways so be prepared. The atmosphere was very lively and fun and when we did see our server, he was very polite. Once all the kinks with service are worked out, this will be a great spot.

We were here between 8-9pm. There was no people only us and another family. Our food was great. I got the quesadilla and a Coke. Our rice was crusty and they replaced which was good. We ordered the mazapán martini but they were out. It was my first time here but my cousin said they were out last time too. Overall will return.

After reading the recent horrible reviews of this place on Yelp we were hesitant to even try it. But one thing people were griping about was spot on, there was a significant language barrier with our server. To point of if you want something unusual or a modification you better be real patient. At one point the mgr had to come out to clarify something we ordered. We did order a few items from the happy hour and I do get the idea that if we weren't careful we probably would be charged full price. The atmosphere of the place is great, probably a good place to see live music as well. Only problem is they left the front door open in nearly 100 degree weather so the AC could only keep the temp tolerable.
Margaritas were very good. Overall I thought the food was pretty good and worth another trip back. They have a unique salsa: very hot, almost creamy and spicy. We were there through the dinner rush and the place was pretty dead so don't know how they are staying in business. It was Wednesday ladies night so the bartender gave our women free shots of tequila which I thought was very nice!

This place has a great atmosphere and the food is really good. There's a great outside bar area with TV's and comfortable chairs. The wait staff is friendly. The manager came to our table to remove dishes and asked how we were doing. He offered us an entré coupon for visiting for the first time too. Overall great experience!

Amazing experience. They have a really good nachos and amazing drink specials 2. I would highly recommend coming and eating here to this great original Taste of central Mexico. The atmosphere is welcoming and also very different from other restaurants here in San Antonio.

La cantinita has gone through some interesting times. Recently there have been some new additions to their management! Honestly this place is the place to check out for a chill, swell and fun time with friends. Good changes have been made! Check it out and try to see the good in them. DefinDefinitely going back next weekend!

This is REAL mexican food.Finally San Antonio has another true mexican restaurant.The food is full of flavor with fair prices and lots of deals throughout the week/weekend.I recommend the Costras and enchiladas de mole.They are authentic and delicious.The churros hit the sweet spot!😀

This place is deplorable. I don't even know where to begin. The food is so gross, it came out cold and the chips were stale. Our waiter was wasted and pouring drinks for himself when he thought no one was looking. When I asked to speak to a manager the staff said the manager was to busy to speak to me. The patio area is a plume of cigarette smoke and they had 5 bottles of different liquor in their back bar. For a place claiming it's a bar I found it very hard to take this place seriously. I think a health inspector should pay them a visit.

Went to go celebrate my Girlfriend's bday, but don't think Cantanita were properly staffed for her party. The waiter we had was very nice and attentive but clearly her party needed more than one waiter/server. I ordered the torta and I really enjoyed it. There also was a wedding being held the day of our outting, so It seemed to be under staffed for our party and the wedding. The waiter did the best as he could under the circumstance.

Wow, I celebrated my birthday with a buffet in the morning. IT WAS AMAZING!!! The food was delicious, the environment excellent, since we wanted to talk and hang around.
Several of my friends was their first time and we all loved it!!! We'll be bringing our partners to the Sunday buffet.
The variety of food, the quality and the flavor were outstanding. Real Mexican food, like homemade.

Very nice atmosphere. This is the first place I've ever been to where rice & beans were not served with the mexican plates. You could order each a la carte.
Did take a long time to get our drinks, yet I could see the bartender just standing there.
There were 5 in our party and an automatic service fee was added.
We decided we would give it another chance but go for happy hour when the weather changes. This place has been so many restaurants so hoping they make some adjustments in the menu as well.

I only ordered food 1 hour ago, and did not receive it until I asked for 3 times. Also, I ordered a drink and I never got it. I am more disappointed at this experience than Roman Reigns coming out as #30 at the Royal Rumble.

The restaurant is impressive, and the play area is a plus. The food is OK... The cheese sticks were pretty good. The wrap was OK and the flautas were made with dark chicken and were unappetizing. Every plate came out at different times with our friend's Costra taking almost 30 minutes later after our plates came out.

We went Saturday for appetizer & drinks. We ordered our drinks & appetizers as soon as we sat down. The drinks took about 25 min to get to our table. && They took about 45 min to bring appetizers by the time they brought it the food was cold. The nachos were missing Cheese, picture showed white corn when it's yellow. Jalapeño poppers were supposed to be 4 & brought out 3. When we asked to speak to manager the employees did not want to call him/her. Do not recommend at all!
