Wow, I celebrated my birthday with a buffet in the morning. IT WAS AMAZING!!! The food was delicious, the environment excellent, since we wanted to talk and hang around.
Several of my friends was their first time and we all loved it!!! We'll be bringing our partners to the Sunday buffet.
The variety of food, the quality and the flavor were outstanding. Real Mexican food, like homemade.
Thanks for making my special occasion more special. We'll be back for sure and organize more events with you guys!!!
Great place if you are looking for some Mexican breakfast options, kid friendly. Their buffet is accessible and tasty and their service is on point.
Overall, my experience was good. The classic margarita was delicious and the food was good. It took abut 15 minutes for a server to come to our table and it was clear service was hectic. I was with a group and we were told the check could not be split greater than 2 ways so be prepared. The atmosphere was very lively and fun and when we did see our server, he was very polite. Once all the kinks with service are worked out, this will be a great spot.
The atmosphere was great, service was even better, food was different but delicious, and beer was super cold and perfect! A Must try place...
We were here between 8-9pm. There was no people only us and another family. Our food was great. I got the quesadilla and a Coke. Our rice was crusty and they replaced which was good. We ordered the mazapán martini but they were out. It was my first time here but my cousin said they were out last time too. Overall will return.

After reading the recent horrible reviews of this place on Yelp we were hesitant to even try it. But one thing people were griping about was spot on, there was a significant language barrier with our server. To point of if you want something unusual or a modification you better be real patient. At one point the mgr had to come out to clarify something we ordered. We did order a few items from the happy hour and I do get the idea that if we weren't careful we probably would be charged full price. The atmosphere of the place is great, probably a good place to see live music as well. Only problem is they left the front door open in nearly 100 degree weather so the AC could only keep the temp tolerable.
Margaritas were very good. Overall I thought the food was pretty good and worth another trip back. They have a unique salsa: very hot, almost creamy and spicy. We were there through the dinner rush and the place was pretty dead so don't know how they are staying in business. It was Wednesday ladies night so the bartender gave our women free shots of tequila which I thought was very nice!
I'm very excited about this place! I have met the owner and he is a great person. He is passionate about bringing *authentic* Mexican food to San Antonio and excited to host a lively, fun experience for his guests.

This place has a great atmosphere and the food is really good. There's a great outside bar area with TV's and comfortable chairs. The wait staff is friendly. The manager came to our table to remove dishes and asked how we were doing. He offered us an entré coupon for visiting for the first time too. Overall great experience!
Amazing experience. They have a really good nachos and amazing drink specials 2. I would highly recommend coming and eating here to this great original Taste of central Mexico. The atmosphere is welcoming and also very different from other restaurants here in San Antonio.
La cantinita has gone through some interesting times. Recently there have been some new additions to their management! Honestly this place is the place to check out for a chill, swell and fun time with friends. Good changes have been made! Check it out and try to see the good in them. DefinDefinitely going back next weekend!
Delicious and authentic food! One of a kind, beautiful decor. A kids room that leads to an outdoor playground. An indoor and outdoor bar. Live music stage. Love it!
The food is really good and I think the restaurant itself is really nice , and I just wanna say good job to everyone working in a tough busy restaurant as such.
