El Coqui Restaurant - San Antonio - Photo album

My brother devoured his pasteles and my platanos Fritos were delicious. The chicharones are small and not a lot of meat. Love the military discount and the people were super nice.
OK just let me say I am a little biased here, my wife is Puertorican, and I love everything about the food and culture. This restaurant has some of the best I have seen in the San Antonio area, I chose the shredded beef dish my wife had mofungo dish of course the yellow rice, tossed salad šŸ„— and pa
Great food! Canā€™t go wrong with the tripleta or the cubano! You also MUST try the orange sauce they have. It is delicious! They even sell it if youā€™re interested.

The buffet was good, I didn't know I was going to an authentic Puerto Rican restaurant. Also tried the fried yucca. Just try it . It's awesome. Just like a potato. French fry or baked potato. It was very delicious. And the smells alone are worth the visit. Nice people and they have Coke Zero.
Nice spot.. a decent buffet if want to try a different style of food. They had tilapia and pulled pork, different kinds of rice and beans, as well salad and dessert. The sandwiches ordered where on point. The Cubano made my son Cuban for the day hehe..was expecting a six inch based on pics .We got l
Excellent first experience with Puerto Rican food. The owner was so friendly and explained things for us to try. I had the Plantano Loco Plate which a double fried green plantains sandwich stuffed with slowly cooked roast pork, ham and Swiss cheese. I had the arroz con gandules rice and maduros or

Iā€™ve never had Puerto Rican food and thank God I didnā€™t spend the rest of my life without trying it! I canā€™t recall the name of the dish I had for lunch, but everything was amazing! Definitely, definitely plan to go back before I leave San Antonio!
Feels like homeā¤ļøsmells like homeā¤ļøšŸ‡µšŸ‡· everytime I get to come to San Antonio I always make it a point to stop here and eat and have been since I was a teenager, going on 10years since I discovered this restaurant and Iā€™m so glad I did. Home away from homešŸ„¹ even the music is the same as my familyā€™s.
Amazing traditional food from Puerto Rico. Platanos locos were my plate and it was delicious. Of course i will come back again šŸ‘Œ
The food is a good taste of Puerto Rican cuisine in San Antonio. It was really nice to enjoy Malta India and other beverages that are rarely seen.
In my top three restaurants in SA. ALWAYS delicious. Owner and staff are so nice. I recommend anything but the lunch buffet is such a great value and super delicious. Fried fish Friday yumm. Donā€™t forget to try the tembleque and budin for dessert. Donā€™t pass on the el coqui sauce!!!
The food here is always delicious, fresh and has the authentic taste of Puerto Rico. The lunch buffet is also very delicious! For a small restaurant the food tastes delicious!!
This is my go to place for Cuban food in San Antonio. The food is amazing! Staff and owners are always so kind. Super military friendly
El Coqui has the most authentic Puerto Rican food in the San Antonio area. It is conveniently located just outside the Visitors gate at Lackland AFB. I HAD THE Chillo entero with tostones and maduros and a small mofongo. Our daughter had the camarofongo. My wife had the pernil. Everything was awes
The food is good with decent service. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is kinda cheap plus the lack of parking is an issue during peak hours.
