My husband an I were going to stop by Subway for a bite to eat, and noticed this location right next door and decided to give it a try. Cute place. Bigger inside than it seems from the outside. You seat yourself when you walk in. We were just going to check out the menu and get any sort of vibe from the place before we decided to eat here. They have one burrito option with choice if beef or shredded chicken. You can also get it with bell pepper and onions. We tried to ask each waitress some questions about the place. Don't think the first 2 understood us. Our third and final waitress stayed with us through the rest of our visit. We decided on the shredded chicken burrito and I got mine with bell peppers and onions. We were both pleased with our dishes. The chips and salsa were good, chips weren't greasy. The dining area was kept pretty clean along with their restrooms. Would go again and recommend to others.

Had a wonderful breakfast here. Whoever is making their tortillas now is on point!! They were soft and fluffy like welita/ grandma use to make. The refried beans were delicious. Everything else was good too but I really enjoyed the great tortillas.

Wow! Every server in the place was smiling and friendly. The wait time on food was reasonable. Our server was quick to acknowledge it was our 1st time to the restaurant and how she had never seen us before. She was very helpful in assisting my sister to ensure her plate was keto friendly. Highly recommended!

The service is very good, the staff is friendly. I ordered the beef crispy tacos 🌮. They were delicious plenty of filling. The rice was very tasty and the refried beans had great flavor. Update one of Mondays Lunch specials are cheese enchiladas with chili con carnie they are very delicious

Melendez Mexican Restaurant has great food. The food has great taste and the staff is awesome. The menu has much to choose from, and they also have daily specials.

I absolutely love this food 👍 👌 I got the Mexican plate containing 2 chesse enchiladas 1 beef puffy taco, lg sweet tea .

Great food and adorable price. You can get lunch for 5.99-6.99 including big glass of ice tea. I tried Friday combo - beef fajita and cheese enchilada - it was really nice lunch. Place is clean and spacious. Customer service is excellent. Definitely would recommend for lunch.

First visit with extended family who highly recommended Melendez Mexican Restaurant off Walzem Road, Windcrest TX. We each enjoyed our choices from the lunch specials. Home-made flour tortillas!! Corn tortillas also available. Will try them next time!! Note: To pay bill, if server does not return with ticket, then just go to cashier at counter. She had our tickets. PS: They serve Fideo!! An old family favorite!! Next time will order! (The lunch special tempted me more!!) Thank you!!
