Came here once before a year ago to try some Ethiopian but they were closed do to a private event. Was in the area again and decided to stop by. This was by far one of my best food experiences. The food was far better than what i expected as I've only had Ethiopian food once before. Ordered the vegetable platter. The service was great as the host was very attentive. If you're ever in the San Antonio area and wanting to experience Ethiopian food this will be the goto place.

I love San Antonio for their restaurant diversity. This Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurant Is delicious! I had number 13 the meat and veggie combo with plenty of Injera to eat the food with your hands. This plate had spicy beef, chicken, salad, some kind of cabbage that was absolutely delightful, and I think it was a root vegetable maybe sweet potato made with their spices. And for dessert I had Ethiopian coffee freshly brewed with natural sugar and French vanilla creamer. Believe me I-Didn’t need a dessert with this.If you’re in San Antonio check out this simple but well decorated place. $21

Food was delicious and authentic! Personnel is nice, all veggie options and meat options we tried were legit, will definitely love to return when I’m in town. We ordered the veggie combo, meat combo, veggie and meat combo, tea, and the traditional coffee.

Delicious!!! Some of the best Ethiopian food we have ever had- very fresh and flavorful. The portions were also big! We recommend trying the Traditional Honey Wine if you like honey flavors.

African Village Ethiopian Restaurant provided a much-needed break from the usual dining options in San Antonio. Opting for the meat and veggie combo with lamb, I discovered a delightful departure from the ordinary. The flavors and aromas took me on a mini culinary adventure, and I'm already looking forward to returning for more. African Village Ethiopian Restaurant offers a refreshing change of pace and a taste of something different for those seeking a unique dining experience.

We got the beef 2 and 10 and the vegetarian 1 (lentils) for 2 people and went home with leftovers. The food is incredible. This is the only Ethiopian food place I go to now. Everything is made fresh to order. The food is piping hot when it hits the table, the staff is kind and friendly, and the injera is perfectly spongy. They recently redecorated too and interior is so colorful now! I really can’t say enough good things about this place.

I’ve had Ethiopian food once before, and don’t remember being super fond of it. Today’s meal was wonderfully flavorful and served with lots of ambience. We preferred the meat options to the vegetarian dishes. Tipsi and Doro Wat were our favorites. Just be aware- this is not a quick place to eat- the chief also waited on tables. That was perfect for us but if you are in a hurry take out might be the way to go!

Wow, the food was great very well seasoned with lots of flavor and very spicy 🌶️ just the way I love it. I will be coming back to try the rest of the menu, with plenty of options and they even have vegan food with gluten free bread. If you are in the area you should stop by I highly recommend it if you have never tried Ethiopian, food. Try their coffee ☕️ it amazing.

Super nice people and insanely good food. I have been in love with Ethiopian food even before I visited this place. However, the food here is next level. I have never had such good Ethiopian food. I would highly recommend this place. I had ordered a vegetarian appetizer(made of red lentils) and a vegetarian combo. Reminds me of home. Such a comfort and guilt free food.
