If I checked the reviews first and saw all the bad ratings i probably wouldn’t have went. But i was driving by and saw the lunch special and pulled in overall glad i found the place Lady at the counter was very nice i ordered the Beef Ribs plate $9.99 and includes two sides. I’m a huge fan of Beef ribs over pork ribs and most places don’t have them and if they do they’re super pricey Real meaty and well seasoned ribs did have quite a bit of fat but was good overall. Haven’t tried brisket or anything else but based on the beef ribs i had a good experience and will stop by again

Everything is really good! Brisket, beef and pork ribs, chicken, and sausage. Their sides are potato salad, beans, and rice. The waitress is very attentive to be able to take your order. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a smile and the ambiance is very comfortable and friendly. I always feel welcome. Definitely go back.

Where do I start, The place is clean and well kept. The customer service is amazing and the family is real nice too. I order a family pack with: brisket pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken, sausage, and three sides Everything was flavorful, especially the brisket!! If y’all haven’t checked them out, y’all need to go. Y’all been missing out!!!

I wish I could’ve taken a picture of the amazing smoke smell emanating from this place. Mmmm...anyways...if you read the reviews of this place you will find a bunch of polarizing opinions. What some people refuse to understand is that barbecue, especially in Texas, is as polarizing an argument you can engage in. These people think all barbecue should be fall apart and lean and blah blah blah...what they need to know is that style exists in the world of food. This place has a unique style. I’m no expert but I believe this guy smokes his meat at a lower temperature which gives it a “steaky “ texture and because of the low temperature it takes longer to smoke. This extra time produces a thicker smoke ring and a deep smoke flavor. He keeps a bit of extra fat in to keep moisture in balance and thus you have a different brisket then what you’ll see your favorite celebrity eating on food network. I enjoyed the food. It was well put together and the service, by the owner himself, was outstanding. The smoked sausage even reminded me of an adult version of a slim Jim. So kudos to this guy for cooking what he likes and making a business out of it. I wish more entrepreneurs would follow in his footsteps instead of buying a Wendy’s franchise and selling out by selling food that is mass produced without style.

Came here for the first time and had a Brisket Sandwich. Nice and very fast service and good flavor on the brisket. A bit fatty for my tastes but that is the nature of brisket sometimes. Nice local place for some BBQ. Oh and I saw there's All You Can Eat beef ribs Thursday and Friday. I'll come back for sure.

Just got out of work. Was hungry came in and got the whole chicken meal deal for $16. Loved it! Loved how everything on the plate was organized loved the special made bar b q sauce.the chicken tasted amazing . I was very impressed with the quality and quantity. I got full and still had some to take home. I be coming here for my bar b q fix for now on.

Amazing BBQ. Had a friend in town from Arizona, we tried this place, and were very pleased by the results. Amazing local atmosphere. Great owner, and cook. We were so full, but didn't leave anything on our plates. Easily better then Franklins. Great prices. More food then expected. Thanks again to the staff.

Customer service was awesome! This was my sister and I first time visiting this spot. We had a long hard day cleaning out a storage and Gilbert noticed it! He took great care of us packaged us a great family meal deal that provided us all the treats we all enjoy. God bless you Gilbert and the amazing staff of Southside BBQ.
