I never right reviews but I was reading them and got really frustrated. This is by far the best Korean restaurant I’ve been to. Unlike all of these restaurants other reviews I am Korean. This tastes just like authentic Korean food. I loved place by far myself and my family’s favorite Korean restaurant ever. The service was amazing she does all this herself and in 5 minutes we got both of our appetizers. I recommend This place if you want real Korean food, and not the American Korean bbq places.

I really enjoyed my experience at Chong’s Korean Restaurant. It’s a great little hole in the wall place with delicious food. I don’t know why there’s such negativity around the service because the owner (I assume Mrs. Chong herself) was very attentive and was perfectly sweet.
She even was very helpful in showing my friend and I the best way to enjoy the food and hold utensils since we are sort of newbies.
I think people go in expecting chain restaurants experience and that’s kind of a ridiculous expectation.
This is a great place, with wonderful food and a very cool lady running it all (seemingly) herself.
I will be coming back soon.

Look, at first appearance she might seem rude. She's 72 years old and is truly a sweetheart. The food is good. Lots of flavor. I'll definitely be back. She's very old school might take some getting used to. But I like original people. Not fake.

We have been going here for years and always had a great food experience. The bento boxes are great for the smaller appetite and when one is in a rush. The pork Begolki has been my go-to for years, delicious and plenty of it. Ask for the Kimchi cucumbers, and with a bit of luck, she will bring some. Don't expect the best service, she (the owner and chef) can be a bit harsh, but the food makes more than up for that.

Was my first time eating here. A pretty decent menu that includes most the items you would expect from any Korean Restaurant. The woman who runs the restaurant was taking orders, cooking, and serving the food the day we were there.
We ordered 2 plates of the bulgogi and a kimpop roll. Side dishes were a bit minimal, but everything had excellent flavor. Portions of the main entrees were good sized.
Service was great, prices were fair. I would definitely return here. If your in the area I would check out the lunch plates, they looked like a really good deal.

Nice little quaint restaurant. Feels like home. Chong is very friendly and an excellent chef. The food was spot on. Situated on the west side of town at 410 and Marbach, It's the only Korean restaurant over here. Hopefully it gains popularity.
4/5 stars: no alcohol, sad face. no soju or makgeolli.

Went for the first time and was happy with the delicious yaki mandu, Korean BBQ pork, and bulgogi. Excellent service by Mrs. Chong. I'm so happy this is close to my house! Definitely going to become regular customer.

We’ve tried a handful of Korean restaurants in SATX, but this is by far the best one here. It is the closest to the taste of Korean cuisine we get in Hawaii. We’ve tried their bibimbap, bulgogi, kimchi fried rice and our favorite, kalbi. Their banchan, or side dishes, are always delicious. Just wished we could get more. I’m not a huge fan of kimchi, but I actually love their kimchi.
It’s in an odd place/location, but this hole-in-the-wall find will definitely satisfy your Korean BNQ cravings. Also, keep in mind it’s not fast food and sometimes (usually) it’s just Mama Chong cooking in the kitchen - but the wait is worth the food.

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.! We got the Dukbokki, Gal Bi and Pork Bulgogi. And every single thing is delicious. I'll definitely come back and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Best Korean food we have ever had. Cooked by the owner, felt like we were eating in her kitchen.

Ms. Chong is wonderful! We found this place by accident but are so happy we did. The dishes are authentic and fresh. The flavors are bold and spices on point. The plates are served piping hot and she's just perfectly attentive. I believe she's running the place solo so if you're in a hurry, this isn't your stop. However, if you have time, you will not be disappointed!
While we were there we had the fried pork dumplings (#37), beef bulgoki (#13), beef short ribs (#14), and the seafood tofu soup (#20). The plates came with the traditional Korean sides.

Chong’s Korean Restaurant is a small place, but boy was the food good. My husband and I both lived in Korea (we actually met and got married there), so every so often we get the craving of good, authentic Korean food. This place is also close to where we live so we decided to give it a try. I can’t say it was cheap, but it was OH-SO-WORTH-IT. We ordered the deokpeokki 떡뽁이 for an appetizer and it was just delicious. Spicy and a little bit sweet, tender rice cake, with some fish cake and onions, and that heavenly red sauce. We didn’t leave a single piece. After that we got the Beef Bulgogi and the LA Beef Galbi, and a side of lettuce, garlic and samjang paste because I wanted to eat in a samgeopsal fashion, wrapping rice, meat and sides on a lettuce leaf before eating. All the side dishes (banchan) were truly authentic Korean flavors. We were both full and happy when we left. Will definitely come back!
PS: they have lunch specials that are quite cheap!

Ordered carryout for 3, all three of us had a bento box (pork or beef) and 3 orders of dumplings. At first I thought it was less servings, but realized the rice was in a separate container. There is plentiful meat serving, it just looks lonely in the large space without the rice. It was about half full of just bulgogi meat! Added in the rice and it was overflowing. The flavor the the kimchi here is top notch. The Bulgogi is the style and flavor that is my preference. Steamed dumplings here are fantastic hard to try any of the other apps because the dumplings are so delicious. Sorry no pictures I was at work when I had my food.
Chong is an amazingly kind human, and cares and has pride for the restaurant and customers. I have never ever seen her be rude or unkind in fact even when slammed she has never been nothing but nice every time I have visited. I would expect some of the below reviews threw shade and were mad because she didn't play their game.
Expectations for a 1 person operation RESTURANT in mind, she still does better than any other Korean place I have visited in San Antonio in food quality. The restaurant takes pride in their cleanliness and that tells you everything you need to know about you are getting a top notch and SAFE product. Its in a older stirp mall and interior isn't updated but its clean and food is great!

Good food. I was starving so the lunch portions were a little small for me but the dinner portions are larger.
