Freshest Natural Ice Creams

Wow! I have nothing but glowing remarks for this wonderful spot. My family and I love their ice cream selection. It’s forward with the ingredients which makes it the perfect spot for anyone with any dietary restrictions. But what makes it stand out in our eyes is the exceptional customer service that is so inviting and warm. We got to know Angela, the owner of the spot, and her bubbly and friendly personality makes the ice cream all the sweeter. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I'm a Coconut snob. Freshest serves the most naturally sweetened-tasting, best textured, and hands down the best Coconut ice cream I've had to-date--and I'm old enough to have reasonably cheap insurance, so I've tried a few. Plus, the owner, Angela, and her team are super-friendly. Space is at a premium in this diminutive delight,, so be sure to call ahead if you require seating! :) Good luck finding a better spot to chill in San Antonio. :) Scott

The best gelato vegan icecream made with the freshest ingredients! So creamy and smooth and not overly sugary. The perfect blend of flavors! I went here on a roadtrip with my friend and her lil ones who are all vegan! We LOVED the Colombian flavor with mango and papaya and guava. 🇨🇴🇧🇷 Super sweet and compassionate owners Angela is so happy to share the freshest tropical flavors of Colombia and Brazil. Honestly one of the best icecream places I've been to. Definitely shows the passion for juices from Colombia. Love the small business story too and photos and traditions from Colombia.

Loved it so much we came again this year! August 2023. I got the Coconut, Very Berry and Reeces Peanut Butter! With mint/chocolate topping! The other is mango and Passion Fruit. It's a non dairy ice cream some vegan, but it's the special alkaline water they use that's their thing. The 1st 2 pix are from 2022. I couldn't resist trying the pumpkin and the very berry. Delicious! On the left is Texas Pecan- just as good!

The smoothies are very delicious and you can taste the healthiness in a good way and the ice cream is just splendid. They have vegan and lactose-free options and have many flavors. 10/10! The flavors are out of this world and better than any other ice cream I've tried! They also have many toppings. If you are vegan, gluten-free, or lactose-intolerant, or just an ice cream fan, you must try this place.

The most refreshing ice cream I’ve ever had. The lactose-free options are somewhat reminiscent of a sorbet, but the texture is softer, smoother- honestly unlike any frozen treat I’ve had. The mango and coconut flavors were obviously made with real mango and coconut- no artificial flavoring- and the result is amazing! I took a pint of the lactose-free Nutella home to try later. It was a really hot day (104) and the manager packed it in ice for me, but after a ten minute drive, it was still a little melty. I took it out of the freezer about five hours later expecting the icy texture of melted ice cream that has been refrozen. It was still creamy! The flavor was rich, but not too sweet. Somehow Freshest has managed to make an ice cream that is both velvety-dense and light as a cloud. Rich and refreshing at the same time! I’ve never had anything like it. This is the ice cream you want for hot South Texas summers.

The flavor that I would definitely go back for is Dear Texas Pecan - there were small pieces of pecan in every bite! Absolutely delicious and light. Angela’s menu has other options with ice cream flavors included - slushy, coffee blended, banana splits, etc. The staff were super friendly and one staff was extremely helpful (and knowledgeable) on the flavors. She did mention that the Coffee flavor was strong. What a perfect day to indulge in lactose and dairy-free ice cream.

HOLY FLAVOR!!! I love how all the options are either dairy free or lactose free. Angela, the owner, was so excited to have us! She took her time explaining to us that all the ice cream is made in-house. There was someone in the back that we could see making a new flavor for the week: mango! I tried the Colombian which had mango, papaya strawberry and pineapple. and The passion fruit has AN EXPLOSION of flavor! My husband tried the Texan pecan(pecan, cinnamon and whiskey) which also was amazing and the Oreo tasted JUST like Oreo! Everything is just like the name of this business: THE FRESHEST! We also tried the Brazilian Cheese Bread. Takes a minute to make because it’s made to order. But super delicious little snack!
