The C Star is a hidden gem at Babcock and Callaghan; think generous portions of excellent food at a great price served in a dimly lit yet comforting opium den. The service is excellent and swift with no nonsense servers and an absolute Wizard Dragon King making magic happen in the kitchen. I ordered the lemon chicken, a mysterious yet playful dish. The breading coating the chicken was thin and crisp, like tasty lingerie fluttering in a gentle breeze kissed with a dalop of chili spice and soy. If the C-star is trying to seduce my family to frolick in the fields of flavor country for lunch, mission accomplished. Color us seduced.

Place wasn't that big inside and a bit too dim for my preference BUT the prices and food made up for it (I'll get it to go next time) The portion size was huge (pic doesn't do any justice) and the food was very flavorful. We got the combination lo mein and sweet and sour chicken plates with rice, egg roll, egg drop soup, and sweet tea....all for $19 I STRONGLY suggest if you're in the area definitely try it out, I mean you get huge portions with a great price!

Very scetchy looking Chinese restaurant that is dark and feels dirty. The small dining area was half blocked by stacks of boxes and the quiet room was nearly full of patrons silently eating lunch. There's a steady stream of to go orders being called in and picked up. The staff seem kind and attentive, if not just short of being too busy to help. A to go lunch with soup, eggroll, and an entree was only$8 and it's some of the best Chinese food I've ever had in San Antonio.

I loveddd the food here it was some of if not the best Chinese take out I've had so far it was very delicious, savory and yummy also they give you a lot of food it's very big plate it could honestly feed 2 people. However, I would make some adjustments to the place, such as more light in the restaurant it was quite dim and added to some music or something it was kinda awkward, lol. The outside of the restaurant looks quite old too, but i think it adds character. As far as the service, I think they could be more polite, but nonetheless, it was not bad. I want to also say the prices are very good since they give you so much food. To think I originally went to do my nails at the nail salon "classy nails" next door (highly recommend) but then got hungry and discovered this quirky place. I'm happy I came and I'll definitely be back.❤️

Been coming here since I was kid with my family. Still come here and will always continue to come back. They aren’t out of this world and it’s small on the inside.. but they’re food is always delicious, good prices, and always have great lunch & dinner portions. My favorite.

Not bad especially for the price! The service was fast, too. I placed the order over the phone and it was ready in 10 minutes. The lo mein was pretty good. We also got beef and broccoli, and it was pretty good, as well. Both came with a soup and egg roll. Everything was a little over $18, which is awesome for the amount of food we got.

The place is a small family owned business. However the service was awesome so was the food. You sit yourself and the host comes and it takes all of 10 minutes from the time you walk in to when you sit down to get your food. Huge portions that you will definitely be taking some home. It doesn't have a kids menu so if you have children that don't like Asian food this is not the place for them. For 3 people it was $21 so well worth it.
