Excellent South Indian Restaurant. Good service and plenty of parking.
Food was amazing and reminded me of Chennai, ambience with air-cooler and fans added to it too. Dosa and Tiffin combo portions were larger than expected. Might be shared between two easily.
Coffee had it's true filter brew taste that one gets in Chennai.
A nice tucked away Indian restaurant has good options including dosas. Size and flavor is excellent, you have to push the servers for higher spice/heat levels
Below are the dishes that were eaten at Madurai Mes. Just to be clear this restaurant has no air conditioning and the water they give you is warm. Know that you may be expecting a long line when you walk in the restaurant. The pani puri is one of the best dishes here.
Food taste excellent. Ordered many varieties. Gobi Manchuria, chicken 65, egg bonda, madras chili shrimp, masala omelet, king pao chicken, tawa fried fish, mini tiffin, biriyani and more. Service is excellent. Must try all the varieties on the menu. Love to visit again
Fantastic restaurant! Everything we got was delicious which is not common! I was craving South Indian food and this was the perfect spot, they had a lot of vegetarian options, the idlys were so fluffy and soft. Best part was that their meat is halal so we were able to get the chicken Manchurian and biryani. The chicken biryani was full of flavor and the raita and salna were not watery but instead delicious! Manchurian also was absolutely amazing and not the traditional red in sauce kind but even better with moist pieces of chicken. Even the mango lassi was good and not overly sweet. I was only in San Antonio for two days and unfortunately they were closed on Tuesday otherwise would have gone again.
Based on the reviews, I thought it’s going to be crowded but it was just the opposite. We reached at 12.45 pm on Sunday and most of the tables were empty. Service was slow and we had to call them a couple of times. Taste of Thalapakatti Mutton briyani and Nandu masala were great. I expected chicken 65 to be dry but they gave semi gravy. When I ordered, I informed that we want dry chicken but the person who took the order didn’t care about it. They charge for water bottles which is not a good idea. Hand wash area must be well maintained
We landed at this place based on a friends recommendation and trust me this place did not disappoint us, especially when we were on a road trip away from home and wanting to taste some close to home flavors. The kids loved their dosas and we just went berserk on the Tiffin combos. I took a little bit of a chance and tried the Salt n Pepper Mushroom and Veg Fried Rice and boyyyyyy they did surprise me with the spit on taste. All-in-all it was a place that everyone wanted to keep going back to during our 3 day stay at San Antonio.
Great food and service with average ambience. Food is delicious. They have all South Indian tiffins from idly, dosas, uthapam, pongal, poori, chole bhature, vada etc., their thali options are pretty good as well. The drinks menu looks good but they are not much of a mention when compared to the authentic coffee. The restrooms need more maintenance.
Authentic Indian at its best! Absolutely Delicious! Tikka Marsala Chicken and Saag Chicken were perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of spice. Especially enjoyed the Dosa with 4 chutney/sauces. Service was great, too! Appreciated the extra attention to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Thank you!
Mini tiffin was perfect combo for an adult.
Dosa was huge for kids…but satisfying to look at the size.
Idli should be the first to be served but it came the last. Although it was satisfactory as everybody enjoyed the food.
Shrimp fried rice needs to be served with some kind of sauce than customers asking for it after getting their dish and waiting for it.
Veggie noodles was awesome…same thing follows
For the sauce.
