Bud's Southern Rotisserie

We moved here from Oregon about two years ago and have really enjoyed the Pearl in general........but the first time our family from Oregon came to visit we ended up at the Food Hall and my dad chose the Rotisserie chicken from Bud's! My dad has literally not stopped talking about the chicken and jokes that the only reason he will visit San Antonio again is for that chicken! Needless to say we have frequented Bud's to grab that same chicken! My dad is in town again this weekend and we will be coming by tomorrow to make sure he gets some of that chicken he has been talking about for over a year!!

I've been coming to Buds since they arrived at the Pearl. I've been working at Pearl for years and it was so nice to finally be able to eat, what feels like, a home cooked meal on my breaks from serving the masses at Local Coffee. The chicken is juicy and seasoned perfectly (dont forget to squeeze the lemon!) And the greens HIT THE SPOT! Good vibes, friendly staff and the kind of food that feeds your soul! ❤

We ordered the family dinner with four sides. I was worried about the chicken being dry, based on reviews; not at all. Delicious. We also ordered the braised greens, cole slaw, jambalaya, and roasted potatoes. All were so so good. If you want a quick, down-home, southern meal.....this is your spot. We got our to go and the service was stellar. We will definitely be back.

Looked like the most hardy meal at the food court type building. It was very good with delicious spices (not too much, with a hint of lime). The Cole slaw and roasted potatoes were also very good! In a place with a lot of options this is a small stand-out that won't break the bank. The cashier was super friendly and recommended the chicken as her favorite. I'd do the same! The bar is right in front of it and will more than take care of your "hydration" needs haha PS. This is a great family friendly area to walk around in. Great home cooks food . We had the chicken with collard greens and jambalaya. The chicken was fresh. The veggies were hot and healthy. The jambalaya was very flavorful. The jalapeños added an extra spicy touch as well. I would like to go back to try the pork and everything else on the menu. The service was great! The only critique I have is the beverage selection. Everything is only available in the bottle or can. I would like to see a beverage machine instead. Will be returning soon!
