The host was very polite and attentive. The food was delicious. The mild tomatoe sauce was my favorite, its very flavorful. The green and yellow spicy sauces are good too. I got a barbacoa plate and it was well portioned for the price.
Super nice staff, we were from out of town, they made it a dine in experience for us and the tacos were delicious and reasonable. There hot sauce has a nice bite to it. I recommend Mimi's. Will come back next when I'm in town.
Employees are great there but their tacos are even better. My mother and I used to go here all the time so I still go by a lot since she passed. It brings back memories.
This place is amazing. It has become my every Sunday early morning spot. The gentleman are awesome and they come to know you by name or face but either way you feel like family and they are always willing to customize your order without compromising the taste they are so famous for
Had a Barbacoa taco today. It was the most meat filled taco I’ve ever had; they are VERY generous with their portion size. The single taco also cost $4.47 after tax.
I gave 4 stars because the Barbacoa is virtual salt free, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing…it’s just unusual for San Antonio Barbacoa. I had to add salt to my taco, which is the first time I’ve ever had to salt to a Barbacoa taco. It was good but needed the salt.
They offered salsa, which I declined. No cilantro or onions were included.
While this wasn’t a bad taco, it’s not typical Barbacoa for the area so I’ll stick to other restaurants for this type of taco.
Based on reviews here I plan to be back to check out the tamales.
Everyone was really nice and the breakfast tacos are sooooo good! I like their spicy green sauce!! The beans are definitely homemade & they have fresh tamales!!
Tried this place for the very 1st time ordered a carne gisada taco. It was really good. Need to try some other items on the menu next time. Be ready to pay more if you have a credit card or debit as a form of payment.
I was stuck for an hour in the neighborhood and was looking for someplace to eat, and Mimi’s popped up on my maps app as the closest restaurant. I found the proprietor to be exceedingly friendly and helpful. He allowed me to choose any of the weekly specials instead of insisting I have the one designated for that day of the week. So I chose the puffy chicken tacos. They were delicious, crispy, and juicy. They had just the right texture, and the mild salsa I’d chosen was an excellent condiment. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.
One little table for two. It's been a very busy morning but they are super fast and pleasant. From entire families to elderly to single customers, all get treated hospitably. Great food & guys! We tried menudo and breakfast tacos.
My local spot for breakfast tacos, menudo and tamales! I wish they were open every day but they are family owned and I'm sure they take a break to make the food amazing and fresh.
