Yummi Japanese Restaurant

San Antonio has a lot of really good restaurants, but what I really love about Yummy is how sweet and kind the owner is. He really seems to take pride in his business and cares about even how you found Yummi. The teriyaki chicken is really good and we had a spicy roll (I cannot remember the name) that was really spicy (I use ghost pepper powder on everything to give you an idea). The pricing is really reasonable and the portions are large so keep that in mind that you'll have leftovers. There was low lighting and had a calm atmosphere, people were eating alone and working on their laptops as well. The owner also gave us hot tea in to go cups, which I really appreciated.

Getting ready to leave San Antonio and needing to charge Tessie, we decided to go to Yummi’s on a whim. It was truly the best decision. Our waiter, Nath, was such a helpful and attentive young man. The tempura shrimp and mixed vegetables were on point. Ed had the Las Vegas roll which was so fresh and chilled to perfection. I had the cucumber Paradise which can only be described by the word summer. It, of course, was fresh and chilled but light, crisp and so tasty. This place is going down as a must do every time we come to San Antonio.

I cannot believe I waited this long to try Yummi! I was craving sushi and decided to order their Combo 4 Lunch which contains a 5 piece nigiri and a 6 piece sashimi served over a bed of sushi rice, it came with spring rolls and a side salad and miso soup too. As you can see in my attached picture, they do not skim on their sushi, and it’s arranged to be so aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoyed this bento 🍱, as it was filling and so delicious. I look forward to going back soon!
