It's a good Tex-Mex restaurant. The enchiladas are good. I had the carne guisada plate. The service is great. Very polite young lady.
Lots of pictures of Tejano Musicians. I really enjoy that very much. It was noisy because of a party going on. I will go back. We need to try their tacos.

I had never been here but I heard good things about this place! It was hard to spot its really hidden in the back corner. I love as soon as you walk in you see all the memorabilia of all the Tejano singers and Selena with the owner Gilbert. I met the owners brother which is so sweet and caring, he was checking on everyone's tables and running the food out as well as cleaning.I love and respect seeing the owners/family involved and engaging with the customers. You can tell they care and love their business. Customer service was on point. The food, sweet tea and salsa was way better than any others I've had in the marbach area. The enchiladas and rice & beans and tortillas were sooo good, like homemade i love their sauce too! I will definitely be back to try more plates.

The food is good Tex-Mex. I had the chicken mole enchiladas, and my wife had chicken enchiladas. The atmosphere has old pictures of some groups and musicians that are cool to see, but the restaurant is a bit cramped and could use a coat of paint. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food arrived quickly. All in all, we enjoyed our lunch and will come back. The green salsa is delicious.

Food is great. Service is great. The price is good for the taste and experience. I love the pictures of Selena on the walls and mariachi bands. It feels like a cultural venue. The music they play is beautiful and authentic.

We went in for the first time per a recommendation and we very pleasantly surprised. The chicharrón and egg was excellent. Mindy our server was very cheerful and welcoming. We will definitely be back. I totally recommend it.

Gilbert's Mexican Restaurant is a staple of Tejano music in San Antonio and if you can, stop by to give the Javi plate a try...Carne Guisada Enchiladas, they were great! Great music and awesome staff, came all the way from Lubbock, Texas and it didn't disappoint.

First time I tried this place out and a must try are Javi's Carne Guisada Enchiladas!they were the best it was so saucy and cheesy super delicious!It's a little hole in the wall place but that's always where it's at for good food!

I absolutely fell in love with Gilbert's Mexican Restaurant, Great customer service.
While I was waiting for me food, I saw how quickly this place has there regulars and they know them all by name.
The Barbacoa, Menudo, and GBC tasted amazing!!! I can't wait to come back and visit.
Next time, I'm getting the Javi's Special!!
