Visited at their new location on medical and had me some empanadas! They were incredible! Delicious! Amazing! Highly recommend Fat Tummy to anyone who wants to go on a flavor adventure!
I already tried the Chori pan (btw was outstanding) so today I tried the beef and potatoes empanadas. My God what a delight... definitely will be back. �
Visited today for the first time. Very friendly employee (son of the owners I think) recommended the chicken spinach and cheese. It was delicious. My son enjoyed the beef and potato. Husband had spicy beef (it really is spicy). We also tried pepperoni and cheese. They come with a chimichurri sauce. For dessert we had an apple, and a guava and cream cheese. We loved them all. One empanada was a good portion for lunch. The desserts are smaller (and less expensive) so make sure to get a couple of those. Lots of drink options. Order at the counter then sit. A few parking spots in front and more on the side street. Was featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives in 2018. Can't wait to go back.
Food was absolutely delicious! The beef and cheese was my favorite! The chimichurri sauce is the perfect pairing. I also tried a pumpkin empanada but I felt it wasn’t sweet enough. Tasted like pumpkin straight from a can.
Obviously the empanadas are baked fresh but I felt as though there was a lot of smoke in the air and my eyes were so watery the entire time I was eating. Next time I will take my empanadas to-go and won’t eat inside.
If you are looking for something different while in San Antonio, this place is it. The empanadas are delicious and stuffed full of filling. If you're a diners, drive-in's and dive lover, then you'll appreciate that Guy did not steer us wrong in this one. Every one we had was delicious!!!
The staff were friendly and attentive. All the viewed areas appeared clean & tidy. We arrived as the restaurant opened in the morning, making the inviting atmosphere on the quieter side.
During our visit, we had traditional beef and beef & potato savory empanadas served with their handmade spicy chimichurri; guava & cream cheese, and pineapple desert empanadas. All of which were deliciously amazing! Before leaving, we ordered an additional dozen savory empanadas to-go, as well as a jar of the spicy chimichurri.
I am planning a return trip to enjoy more of their menu when I am back in the San Antonio area!

I ate my food so fast, I forgot to take a picture. First time there, tried the spicy beef, AMAZING! It made my nose run but I couldn't stop eating. It was spicy but enjoyable. Will def be back very soon!
A family owned restaurant, the empanadas come in a wide variety, savory and sweet. The dulce de leche empanada is a must try for dessert! Make sure to pick up the house made chimichurri for the savory empanadas, they have spicy and regular!
The best food! Super hot and fresh and the empanadas are stuffed to the brim. The fillings are wildly flavorful. We loved the savory options the most. Beef and potato is the best.
This place is so wonderful, I had a great experience. I ordered four empanadas to try a variety of fillings and I loved them all! I will be back to try more! I love that you can buy fresh-made empanadas to cook at home. The service was excellent, the prices were fair, and the food was so delicious. You definitely need to go here!
My family loves these empanadas! It was our first time visiting because we were recommended by a friend. We got the spinach, chicken and cheese, beef and potatoes, and apple empanadas. All were amazing! They are great with communicating to customers. Great experience over all!
