We are from Dallas and we were looking for a fun place to enjoy some good wine. This place went beyond our expectations! The wine selection is outstanding, the appetizers were the best I've ever had at a wine place, and the owner Jeff Bridges was so accommodating and helped us find a cigar place in SA. This is a place to return each time we are in San Antonio, Tx. Great place! Thanks Jeff!
This is quite possibly the best place I have been to. The moment you walk in you feel relaxed and ready to sit down to enjoy a good glass of wine with friends or family. The atmosphere is perfect and inviting while the service is always THE best and the owners Angie and Jeff are so warm and friendly. They really created this amazing place. As much as I love good wine, I do love good food and I have never ordered anything that was not perfection. From great cheese, to an amazing mushroom pazette and dessert. I always recommend this place for people with good taste because I know they will not be disappointed. I love going here, wish I went more but this is not a place I can PERSONALLY go in to just order one glass of wine, you just keep wanting to drink, eat and stay for awhile which is great but not so great for my wallet and my weight ;P But on a serious matter, if you just want a place to relax with good wine and conversation or if you want to get with a bunch of people for a good time, it accommodates everybody and you will always leave knowing you will be back again.
GREAT wine choices, awesome menu, and chill atmosphere. Love this place! Have been here several times and the bartenders are always knowledgeable about every wine...even as often as they update their wine list!
Excellent sangria, food and service. Be sure to check it out!
Great place to enjoy wine & friends. Visited Copa Wine Bar with another couple recently. Our 2nd visit. Place was busy. Service was excellent. We each ordered a wine flight. Menu promised four 2-ounce pours. Each pour was easily a full 4 ounces! Flight price was VERY reasonable at $18. Had some light fare to match our wines. Low key atmosphere. Enjoyable. Comfortable. Fun. WILL RETURN.
This place is great! The food is wonderful, the staff is great and the wine is always great! Always a great spot!
Great wine and delicious food.. While working in San Antonio this summer, colleagues and I stumbled upon this place and returned twice more within 3 weeks. It's THAT good. I'm sad to see that some menu items have been eliminated since, such as the braised short rib and brie sandwich--one of the standouts on their menu. I returned with several coworkers, two of whom travel to Spain yearly, and they deemed their tapas to be quite authentic. Wine flights are great bargain, allowing oenophiles and those new to wine the chance to expand their palates.
What SA Needs. Having lived in other cities, I find it hard to find good places to eat in San Antonio. While Copa has an extensive wine list at reasonable prices, I enjoy the food more than most restaurants in the area. Keep up the good work Copa!
Great wine selection! They make their open white and red sangria. Love the laid back atmosphere. Brushetta is the best I have ever tasted ...
Awesome Wine Bar!. Nothing worse than a snobby wine bar. Copa is the exact opposite! Our server, Mimi, was very friendly and gave us great service. With boutique wines from all over the world, it was easy to find a great wine at a reasonable price. The parma pizzette was awesome! By the way, great happy hour with discounts on wine and food! I will definately be back...
Great Wine Bar, Great Food, Great Hosts. I have been a customer and friend since Copa opened, and a friend and customer of Jeff and Angie Bridges for years before.
They never meet a stranger and they, and everyone else at Copa, employees and customers alike, will make you feel completely at home.
The wine list is extensive, almost everything can be had by the glass, they have selections you will not find anywhere else (and I do mean anywhere elese, not in San Antonio, not in New York, no where). Txomin Etxaniz, for example. And the best part is they have amazing, well crafted wines at very affordable prices, prices closer to a retail store than a restaurant.
The food is incredible, simple but creative. Try the hummus and you will see what I mean!
Best BTG selection in SA. As well as a nice selection of wine flights to help you explore new varietals. Menu selection is not vast but complements the wine. Can get a bit noisy downstairs at times, all in all a delightful place with great hosts.
First timers. Waitress excellent! We had the Sangria Flight and Sauvignon Flight both delish! We had additional glasses quite tasty! 4 rating for atmosphere was for the extremely loud regulars heckling besides us. Couldn't hear each speak...Other than that very cute place..great 70's music. Would highly recommend!
We hadn’t been to Copa in awhile and so glad we decided to go for the Cali wine tasting cause as usual the wines were fantastic and the service was great. The wine tasting offers 6 different wines although my favorite tonight was the Chardonnay.
I really love this cozy wine bar! The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date or to come with your girlfriends and enjoy some of the most delicious wines.
The selection of wines they have is massive, you can get lost in their wine list! So if you are not an expert like me, just ask the bar tender and he will guide you and get the wine you want.
The place is very tavern-cozy-romantic-european like and I love it!
The food is also very very good, I have tried almost every item in their menu and everything is delicious.
This time we decided to do the bruschetta and OMG what a refreshing and tasting dish, I have tried many bruschettas but this one is one of the best; we also ordered "La Verdad" pizza, which means "The Truth", loved it, all the ingredients so fresh!
If you want a nice, quite and romantic night, this is your spot!
Amazing food and the drinks! Hats off to Christian and his great service and his drink knowledge!! Will be recommending this place to all friends and family!
It was mid-afternoon and I saw the signage for Copa while in the adjoining shops. It was lit to my liking on the inside, the music playing was favorable, and seating was appealing. The wine list was extensive, but not overwhelming. Prices varied as expected and were reasonable. I was only in for one glass, but enjoyed my overall experience and will go back to partake in the food menu.
Whether it be happy hour after work, wine night with the girls, date night with your bo or just a night alone with yourself and a book, the answer to Copa is YES! The environment is very cozy and the service is outstanding. Being that it is a wine bar/lounge there are many options to choose from although, don’t let that intimidate you; especially if you are knew to wine tasting. If there is a certain wine you are wanting to try, they will see if they have one open already so you can taste test before “committing” to it. To be completely honest though, there hasn’t been one i’ve tried there that I haven’t been fond of as of yet. The waitresses are very well versed and the food/apps are all delicious. I cannot say enough good things about Copa. If you haven’t gone yet, you need to!
Bruschetta, Mediterranean dip, Cerdo Borracho pizza and the charcuterie board have all been fantastic so far, the red and rose sangria are also good to go. This has become our go-to spot.
We haven't been here for a while and decided to stop in for wine and tapas. Immediately felt like home with a warm welcome back by the staff and treats for the pups. The wine selection is expansive and one should never have a problem finding something to suit their palate. The food menu is varied and runs from brisket nacos to a traditional charcuterie plate. Their is pet friendly seating outside and a warm inviting environment inside. A great after work or date night get away
The staff is polite, extremely knowledgeable, they have a huge wine selection, great beer options as well. The food is phenomenal, this is a perfect place for a nice quiet evening with your significant other or friends, or a great place to meet new friends. Best place to watch the spurs during the playoff, always a good seat available. They have these awesome end of the month dinners for those who sign up, the theme changes every month, again, food is outstanding. The Copa is a BIG bang for your buck, it's crazy good, and a great place to be.
What a fun place. We did the wine flights. They have creative names for their flights. Very fun. We also got funnel cake sticks for dessert. They were pretty good. We went after lunch, mid afternoon on a Monday and it wasn't very busy. Service was excellent and we want to go back and try something from their dinner or lunch menu.
