I make the short trip down Broadway each Saturday morning to pick up breakfast tacos. My wife and I have lived in this area for 16 years and have tried them all, but Carmelitas has the best hands down. Homemade tortillas are the best. Refried beans are delish, Machado rocks, Barbacoa is great, and eggs Mexicana is perfect. They are not at all chinsy with their ingredients. Highly recommend.
This place has the greatest Mexican food in town. Will definitely be going back to Carmelita's on my next trip to San Antonio. Delicious food and great service! The young lady at the register put the finishing touch on our amazing experience at Carmelita's.
Service and food are great. Loved the interior decor. They have a pothos plant spanning the length of almost the entire ceiling! Love this place and will be back soon.
What a WONDERFUL stop for a 6am breakfast burrito 🌯 and a large horchata! Exhausted. Straight off a 29-hour Amtrak train. Lovely place with the nicest ladies! 😊
They have great food at excellent prices! The staff is very kind and they even make ordering and picking up food easy. I go back here everything I'm in town.
Great food, service and prices. Came here for lunch.
Excellent food and service! We were the only people eating breakfast on a Saturday morning and it was very peaceful. The coffee was very good. I will definitely be returning.
I eat/order from here multiple times a week. The food is amazing as well as the service I recommend the green avocado sauce, it adds great flavor to already amazing food! 🙏🙌
This was my first time here. Their customer service is amazing! I was immediately greeted by the friendly hostess/ cashier. My food arrived quickly. It was delicious😋. Their Carne Guisada tacos are very flavorful, and the salsa was excellent. Love this place. I highly recommend it.

I arrived about an hour before closing and they were still eager to serve. The Carmelitas plate is a great combo platter including a puffy taco. And you get two homemade tortillas. Typical Tex-Mex but a little greasy. The tea was a little weak for my taste but still fresh and made in-house. It was plenty of food and all piping hot and good. It's a shame this place isn't open for dinner because it's far superior to the other Mexican place down the road. I'll be back to try some breakfast tacos.
The food was good. The staff was friendly. The price is like every where. Can't complain. I would like to go again.
Great little place for a quick bite... I had their breakfast tacos and coffee.
