I can't say enough about this place Amazing food...
Only complaint.... Need more space for more tables... Been turned away cause of no seating. But we always come back!!! It's that good!!!
Great Italian, very friendly and great service. The calamari was excellent and a good choice of beers. Tonight, one of the waitresses noticed that my son was opening some presents so at the end of our meal they brought out a piece of birthday cheesecake and sung 'Happy Birthday' to him. Lovely surprise. Really enjoyed our evening would definitely recommend it - a great find.
Meal was excellent with large portions. They even accompanied my adding to an order of backed Ziti to add meatballs with it! I will be going back.
Excellent Caesar salad, cheesy garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, chicken parm and chicken marsala!! 5 stars hands down. We will return!!!!!!!
Pizza was on my mind in a lazy Sunday, but I wanted something of the non chain local variety. During down culebra I came across LS and quickly remembered the great reviews.
The house like exterior is quite inventing and the living room size dining area makes it feel as though you're siting in your gmas house for Sunday dinner.
The menu is respectable in its offerings, but I stuck with the pizza and also asked for the fried ravioli.
Maybe bc 3 tables totaling 7 ppl placed their orders at the same time, but 20-25 mins seemed excessive to wait for an appetizer when we were the only tables in the place.
Hunger pangs asides, the fried ravioli was larger than expected. The flavor was standard, not bad but not something I would order again.
The pizza was loaded with cheese and an appropriate amount of toppings. The crust and sauce were respectable, not the best but respectable.
Will return to try their much applauded plates.
I loved the Shrimp Fettuccine. It was so delicious. I highly recommend everyone to try out this place and enjoy all their delicious food on their menu. It's a small restaurant with a excellent chef. Makes you feel like your in Italy.
Second time was the charm. We made a reservation for the second time we went and that assured us a table. Perhaps because it was during Fiesta but over half the tables were empty. Service was well meaning but extremely uneven. Food, however, was excellent and the portions are quite large. I particularly enjoyed the chicken marsala.

Reservations are mandatory apparently. Went on a Friday night at 6:30, was met at the door brfore we even stepped in and was asked if we had a reservation, there were only 2 of us so I hadn't made reservations but figured we'd wait if necessary. I said no and she told us that there wouldn't be any more seating available for the evening. Perhaps the food is as wonderful as everyone says but if you want to try it I'd opt for making a reservation.
I love this place. Very small, almost quaint feel to it. Food always tastes great. Portions are small in my opinion, but I love to eat a lot. Even though the portions may be small, it's reflective in the price, not expensive at all.
We have lived in San Antonio almost a year and this was the best meal we have had to date. Baked spaghetti with shrimp and fettuccine Alfredo were outstanding. It is small, but worth a wait. We will be back.
The Best in the West. I eat here it seems like every week. The soups are better than most restaurants I go to and the salads are always crisp and filled with lush tomatoes. The meal speaks for itself. It doesn't matter what you order, everything is unique and it will create its own benchmark in your Italian cuisine list of most favorite. All in all, I love this place, but I have never actually dined in before, always to go.
La Sour-entina. I just happened to overhear a conversation while we were waiting for a table at Pancake Joe's. They were talking about this restaurant saying that it was the best Italian food on the west side. I have actually tried a number of restaurants as a result of my culinary evesdropping and am happy, in most instances, to have done so. This one piqued my interest enough to warrant a drive over to this neighborhood again.
I hesitate to use the much overworked "hidden gem" phrase, but this cool llittle place was a bit hidden, set back from the road in a quasi-residential area across the street and facing St. Mary's southern campus area. Barely 8 parking spaces, you know that a busy nite here is going to foment some parking space jousting.
More over-used adjectives are apropos for this place such as quaint, inviting, and endearing. If we lived closer, it could easily become that favorite funky little Italian restaurant where the wait staff knows what our usual is.
The menu is rife with the usual and customary veal and pasta dishes from which we selected the shrimp francesce. For an appetizer we had an order of garlic bread; crusty toasted bread points with garlic and rosemary. The accompanying house salad was fresh and fairly large. The entree shrimp were lightly coated and sauteed with tails on nested in a whorl of spaghetti and surrounded by a shallow moat of lemon, butter, white wine and caper sauce.
I think I would have loved the shrimp dish but for the overpowering amount of lemon used. By my third shrimp, the pucker power generated had my lips in a sour-clenching vise. What a shame! I am positive the kitchen can do better here so we will probably return to try another of the pasta dishes; maybe something with red sauce the next time.
Main ! This place is legit. You can taste the thought and care that has been put into these dishes. We dined in, and the service was warm, inviting, and thoughtful.
We had chicken psrmit was so good I couldn’t stop eating a d they serve you a big portion .My partner had spaghetti and meatballs it comes with 3 big meatballs , each entree has a choice of salad or soup . I did get some calamari that was delicious I didn’t share with my partner by the way 🤣, But When I tell you everything and I mean everything we had was delicious.
Pricing was beyond fair. We will definitely be back.
First thing, the food is fantastic! The menu is straight from an authentic Italian restaurant and is consistent with these delicious flavors. Recommend the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers only & eggplant Parmesan for your main dish. I’m glad they opened up parking. I’m just curious if they will expand the restaurant since it’s a tight spot with little seating available, and it gets warm in the dining area fast. The last two times' service could’ve been a little better, but you can’t have it all when serving such a delicious menu.
My goodness! This was some of the best Italian food I have ever had. The lasagna was delicious and the ceaser salad divine. I also got some garlic cheese bread and it was amazing
Service was great! The food was beyond amazing! We had the Chicken Parmigana, Chicken Pizzaiola, cheese garlic bread, Caesar Salad and Tiramisu. All were fantastic. You will not be disappointed.
Amazingly good food, delicious dessert. Make reservations, gets busy fast, limited space. Definitely going back.
It's my 1st visit. Had driven by this place many times but never attempted to stop. As the saying goes, 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Disclaimer: To have the utmost dining experience, it's HIGHLY, and can't stress enough, recommended to make reservations in advance. The place is very tiny but cozy. So, I arrived around 5:30 pm on a Tuesday. There were 4 tables full and one server. The server was friendly and fast on his feet, always acknowledging every table as he passed by. I ordered fried ravioli as an appetizer and a glass of cabernet with my meal. My entre was the lasagna with a side salad. My dessert was a limoncello cake (absolutely delicious). Every dish was flavorful and delightful. It took me back to Italy for a split second. Needless to say, it was a pleasant dining experience. I will certainly be coming back again! Come check them out for yourself!
First time dining here. Ordered the baked spaghetti. The food was delicious! Good sized portions for the price . Friendly staff.
The best Italian food in SA hands down! Clean organic taste!
Reservations to this little cozy restaurant is a must to have a seat for any meal. Be ready to spend a little time waiting as the food is made to order. This is definitely a repeat place for us to enjoy some good Italian food.
Make sure you have a reservation because parking is tight! My salmon florentino was cooked and seasoned to perfection! It wasn't greasy. Salad was fresh and crisp! The lemon cake was perfect. The cream was light and airy. It wasn't too sweet and sugary. The wait staff was highly attentive.
