The marinara sauce to die for. Just eat it with a spoon. Seasoned well and delicious. Gelato that is not on the menu. Whatever flavor they made. Today is strawberry!
Veggie pizza with eggplant and mushrooms. I substituted a garlic oil for the pizza sauce but that is homemade too. Tasted it and its good too if you like the oregano flavor.
You must try this place. I hear they are very busy during the weekend so you might not want to not battle those crowds but try a weekday!
We had the meat lover's pizza and garlic bread. It was so delicious! Meat and cheese were fresh and crust was this and amazing. Cozy little spot with super nice folks! We'll be back to try other things soon.
Went here with my family and we had several of their dishes and a pizza. It was all very tasty, would recommend the pizza it's delicious.
What a wonderful little discovery we've found in Alamo Heights. The lasagna was to die for...creamy and meaty at the same time. My husband loved his New York thin style pizza. We will come again!!
Volare Gourmet Pizza & Pasta. Very. Good. Pizza. Volare is tiny little place that many may have overlooked before. Well, it is time to look them up if you want some very good pizza that is made with fresh ingredients. Volare is certainly one of the better local pizza joints in San Antonio. Our friends and we enjoyed dining here.
Now, parking can be tight, and the restaurant may be crowded, especially on the weekends. Perhaps expect a slight wait for seating, and be patient while your order is prepared and served. The wait staff is good and the atmosphere at Volare is vibrant.
Volare has a really tasty homemade garlic bread appetizer with olive oil, cheese, and a marinara sauce. For our pizza, we ordered the Giardino Sciliano 16-inch pie. Wow! This came on a whole-wheat crust (amazing) with grilled eggplant, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, mushrooms, and Provolone & Mozzarella cheeses. This pie was huge and filling. Also, try the raspberry tea. Oh yeah, Volare delivers to my zip code!

Best Joint in Town. Ignore the complaints you hear about this place, they're few and far between, and quite likely the product of some ill mannered individuals.
I'm a return diner at the Valero and have never been disappointed. All of their food is great, especially their pizza and mannicotti, my top recommendations right there. The service is outstanding and this is definitely a "Mom and Pop" kind of place with all the home-felt qualities to go along with it. Some might call it "hole in the wall" but I call it quaint. Being a man who is absolutely critical about the service he gets, I've never had an issue with the place. It's one of the few places in San Antonio I can walk in, sit down and enjoy a meal without issue while listening to classic jazz and swooner music.
For those of you who like to go on dates with the girl you just met or even your wife, this is DEFINITELY the place to take them. Some people like flashy things, but I've yet to see a woman turn her nose up at a nice little Italian place she's never heard of with great service and an intimate setting at night on the patio when the traffic is low. It has my absolute recommendation and seal of approval, so much that I grab a stack of their carry out and delivery menus each time I leave to hand off to friends and co-workers looking for some good Italian. To top it all off, the prices are on the low end for such an expensive city as San Antonio, and if you call ahead and let them know you're bringing a date, you'll see even better service than their already exemplary standard.
Excellent. We are in town for spring break and wanted a unique pizza experience. The pizza was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was quaint and felt like little Italy. Our 5 yr old daughter played with the toy pizza and Mr. Potato Head while we waited. Definitely recommend you check it out.

I went yesterday, pizza is delicious.😍 my girls loved it, we got to watch them make it, sauce is good and crust is, 😍😍 yummy. I will go back and would reccomend this little shop to anyone. A sign advertised live music a couple nights a week which would make it super awesome.
Great Food and Home Feel !!! I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys authentic Italian food. We ordered the Italian Salmon and Calimari, both were extremely tasty and juicy. Its a small dinning indoors however there is a nice area outdoors to sit and enjoy. I really like how the kitchen is inside the same dining area because I enjoy watching them cook! The restroom is a single bathroom however it is very clean and always managed so that is a HUGE plus. The waitress and staff was very friendly and even offered a compliment glass of wine. Its byod when it comes to alcohol which is really cool for those who have a particular wine they like to drink with thier Italian food. Price wise they are a little higher then the chain Italian places but only by 1 or 2 dollars. Which honestly I feel is worth it for the authenticity and it being a mom n pop place!!
The small pizza was the perfect size for a late lunch. I forget the type, but the olives were great. I could easily make this a must stop place on all my trips to San Antonio.
The food and atmosphere is always great at this restaurant! Came in for a late birthday party and were accommodated immediately with great customer service.

This place had an amazing calzone. I got a box to go since I had leftovers, but I forgot the box on the table so it was the saddest day of my life.
A pleasant hole-in-the-wall restaurant with very good food. I have only been there once with my wife, but the food that both of us received was delicious. Tomato sauce was delicious. We plan on going there again soon. The prices were very reasonable for pretty authentic Italian style food.
Update:
Went again with my wife for dinner. Once again, the food was delicious, but the service was really poor. The waitress was friendly, but did a poor job of keeping drinks full and checking if we needed anything. This was a repeat of my previous experience there. I'll be going back because the food is great, but the lack of service really detracts from what should be a great dining experience.
Very small, but cute Italian place. We came for the pizza, and were not disappointed. The best part, though, was the service. The staff was super friendly, and put in extra effort to make sure we were taken care of. They fixed our wobbly table shortly after we sat down without us needing to ask. Would definitely go here again.

Heavens rejoice, these people know their pizza. Their specialty pizzas are superb, extremely tasty. I've been here numerous times and I have to say this is one of the most consistent pizza restaurants in town.
Their margarita pizza, probably the best in town in my honest opinion. Their Hawaiian pizza is great, their garlic bread is delicious, and the service is always great. Every single slice is made to perfection. As far as food and service goes, this is the place to get amazing food.
The only drawback I have of this place is their location, and size of their restaurant, it's very small and easy to miss, and they only have a few parking spaces, so that's a little troublesome. But, that's it.
This place is worth a visit if you are new to town, they always have some sort of italian music playing in the background, but this pizza is simply amazing.
