We came for a business lunch and the service was great! The BBQ is pretty good. I highly recommend the green beans. They're perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. The prices are pretty typical for BBQ. My brisket plate was about $14.
Let me tell you… it was our first time in S.A Texas and my husband and I wanted to try real bbq southern Texan food. We were recommended this spot from back home ( PDX) by a close friend of ours who’s from Texas. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Everyone who is in this area or is traveling to this area, you HAVE TO come HERE! This is the spot! We wish we would have came sooner but we are so glad we came. I ordered the matador sandwich with Mac and cheese and man was it so damn good! My husband ordered an entree with the selection of beef ribs and the Almao dog and man! You will not be disappointed! You must try this family owned restaurant, they put their heart into these meals and they go beyond & provided extraordinary service. The frozen Margarita are perfect for this Texas heat. This is great BBQ ! The ribs and Pulled Pork are off the chain delicious! The BBQ is quality with juicy meats with a great bark! Don’t miss this opportunity to taste yummy. Margaritas are very good
I work downtown and hate paying $40 at lunch for BBQ. I don’t know how I never knew about this place but I spent $20 for a 2 meat plate and a drink and it was delicious!! The people there were super friendly and I came back and told everyone at work. We will all be going there very soon!
Minus the detours and construction in this area, the BBQ is definitely worth it! Loved the service here - the men in the back were awesome and extremely friendly. The brisket was flavorful and paired very well with the creamed corn. So glad Augie’s is one of the few BBQ places in San Antonio that actually has creamed corn on their menu! Will definitely be coming back!
Found this place due to a happy accident. We got lost... Lol.
Brisket was tender, flavorful and not over seasoned. Jalapeno sausage was actually spicy and the pulled pork was incredible.
Finished off with pecan pie... Also very good.

After a morning at the zoo we decided to hop into this bbq joint and enjoy some bbq. It was quiet and mellow and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, and my husband got the brisket sandwich. Half of the pulled pork was tough, but other than that, we couldn’t have asked for anything better. The fries were amazing and complimented the meal so well. Sweet side on the bbq sauce. Staff was friendly.
We were looking for a good place to eat here at San Antonio and found this little gem. I highly recommend this restaurant as the food and the customer service were both outstanding! If you visit San Antonio, this place is a must! Will definitely be back when I come to San Antonio! Rob and the team took care of us very well!
Good food, neat atmosphere, a bit warm inside and definitely not near the main area/river walk.
We parked at the river walk and ended up walking a mile one way. I don't think I would have felt comfortable walking that far alone, since there weren't many people in that area.
