This little gem located near the intersection of South Alamo Street and Cesar Chavez has plenty of curb appeal and is a perfect buy for the amateur house flipper. Wait a minute, I was multi-tasking and started writing this review for a real estate magazine I am working on LOL.
Here is how it should have gone:
Located in the northern most part of South Town near South Alamo and Cesar Chavez, this is a really cool place to hang out with friends. Decent beer selection, some regional craft beers and of course the usual popular domestics. I had the Independence Austin Amber, and although it was tasty, it was $5 for a 12 ounce can. I realize this is the downtown area, but it’s really not the tourist area so I expected a little bit less expensive.
This venue used to be Acapulco Drive-In for those of you who remember it. They have a handful of decent food trucks there and a free private parking lot, but it usually fills up at night. I suggest parking on Cesar Chavez and walking about a block or two. The parking lot on Cesar Chavez is free parking lot unless there is an event going on downtown or at the Alamodome.
The one thing to keep in mind is that this place is outdoors – you can sit under a roof to protect you from the sun or the rain, but you ARE outdoors, so keep that in mind when it’s hot or cold/windy. They have adequate seating, but sometimes it does fill up and you have to stand.
All in all, it has a chill vibe and is a great place to hang out with friends or a good place to meet up with your friends if you are heading into South Town.
I didn't eat here but I was just strolling, this is the first legit food truck park I've seen downtown. They serve alot of mexican food and theres a cajun truck too, there's a bar and its a shaded area.
Nice place for chilling, a wide variety of beers and good choices for food as well.
Did I mentioned there's a DJ playing great music?
If you choose Go'Shen point BBQ be sure to order a rack of ribs, they are just awesome, juicy and soft with a great flavor.
Really great place to eat. Lots of culture and diverse foods. The mix of people make for great company and conversations. Makes for a nice group visit if you're in a group. Highly recommended.
Been here a couple of times. Very chill place. Many food trucks. Good food. Good beer. Lots of cyclists go here. One of my favorite places. If you are ok with eating and drinking outside on benches then this places is for you. If you're high maintenance and want something fancy don't bother.
Very laid back place located near the King William district. They have a decent selection of beer on tap. I haven't tried the food truck food but from what I saw it looked delicious. Would go back again to hangout.
Great place to try new food trucks! Also just a heads up it's all outdoors. The bar also only serves beer and wine. Overall I enjoy trying new food trucks and this a great place to come especially during a cool day!
I really enjoy this place. It's very chill and laid-back. The food changes depending on which trucks are there and there is a good variety of beer. Nice place to be able to sit and relax.
Great drinks. Great service. Ask for Brandon! A true Mixologist! He remembered us and all of our drinks after 3 weeks. Nice vibe too. Caught some basketball on the tube in the back. Will definitely frequent this spot.
It's a nice place. Just not my cup of beer. They have a decent selection of beer, random food trucks, and music. There's outdoor seating only, it's a nice environment overall.
