It was my first time here. I have been wanting to try this restaurant for months but my work schedule never aligned. As soon as I walked in, the atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, I was greeted kindly by one of the cooks, another customer and the sweet bartender who took my order. I purchased the oxtails which came with two sides and I added another side. My sides were collard greens, cabbage, and yams. The meal comes with two corn bread muffins for a total of $25.00. I haven’t tasted southern oxtails cooked to perfection since my grandfather was alive which was years ago (AMAZING). The greens were bomb as well and the cabbages were okay but still worth the purchase. I was glad I was home because the way the oxtails and yams made me smack was embarrassing but I don’t feel guilty about it. Lol. Whom ever the owner is, is doing a fantastic job and the workers were so welcoming, professional and nice. The food, service and environment is a 10/10. I will be back for the gumbo. If anyone is ever in town for a short while or lives in Texas or surrounding areas, go visit and you won’t be disappointed. Thank You guys!!!!
We came for soul food and that is what we got! I tried the fried chicken plate with Mac n cheese, mash potatoes and gravy, and collard greens. My husband ordered the jambalaya. The collard greens were something else! So good! For dessert we had the peach cobbler and sweet potato pie- I would have ordered a other slice if I wasn't so full! The serve was excellent! We definitely needed a nap afterwards!
Great experience!! Sunday brunch buffet was really good! Just wish there were a little more meat options. They had bbq ribs, fried chicken wings, Salisbury steak, shrimp and beef roast around the corner on the cutting boards!! The jazz band was kool!! Had a good time! The desserts were beautifully displayed and freaking delicious!! You can buy mimosas different flavors those were good too!! Not the best soul food I've had but for a buffet pretty good!! I suggest you go on Sunday and listen to the beautiful live Jazz music and enjoy the food it truly is a great experience!! 😋😋😍😍🤩🤩
Went 12/17. Such a vibe. Great food and jazz bad set it off. The swv, Weak in the Knees, had the whole place rocking. The stuffing and fried wings were my fave.
The place was very clean and well decorated. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I had the fried chicken , it was good not great and my friend had the pork chop….it was delicious. Would definitely go back.
Woah. Every single item was so good and way DELICIOUS 😋. We definitely left with a good coma. The food tasted home made and made with love. I highly recommend coming with friends and an appetite. Did I mention they had live music?
Before I give my review, I must give my disclaimer, I’m from the Caribbean and I can cook. With that being said Tony G got at 10/10 rating from me! Sadly they didn’t have oxtails, but besides that they exceeded my expectations on the brunch! I tried the breakfast and lunch options. The fried chicken has a special place in my tummy and so does the waffles! I can’t describe them because they were so flavorful, but you need to try it! Lunch was also amazing and so were the desserts! I can’t wait to try it again!
Amazing food and really nice atmosphere. Wait staff were all smiling and welcoming. The cook even came out to ask how it was! The food was great and they had all kinds of hot sauce there.
Tony G’s Soul food brunch on Sunday’s is an all-you-can-eat buffet. I can’t eat a lot so I don’t like buffets because I like to bring leftovers home. But Joe Posada was playing there and I really wanted to hear live music with mimosas. The sides were delicious and their fried chicken wings were seasoned perfectly with just the right crispy crust. The greens, moist stuffing, and mac and cheese, were exactly how I like them.

What a great little find. It took two phones with navigation to find it LOL one of them I'm pretty sure has no idea what they're doing and one of them knew exactly where to go. The sad part is it turned out we were 7 minutes away from where we were, but it took us 20 minutes in a big circle to get back to there LOL. Okay so that out of the way what a great little patio when you drive up looks like it'll be really nice when the weather is more permissible. From the second we walked in the door people were smiling and greeting us. Our server, and I'm sorry I didn't get her name, was incredible. Big smiles super service what a great combination. I had the steak and shrimp, it is a sirloin which can have a tendency to be a little tougher but it was surprisingly on the tender side and that Grill flavor is always hard to beat. You get four shrimp on the side, decent size, love the batter. I got the mashed potatoes and gravy, we could not figure out what the magic ingredient was, but dang it was good. I also got the corn, nothing out of the ordinary through, going to want to try that mac and cheese on the next visit. My friend got the sweet yams and fried cabbage as their side. They said they wished the fried cabbage would have had some bacon, cuz bacon makes everything beautiful. But my friend said they were really both good. They also want to try the mac and cheese next time, we saw some go by and as always I had plate Envy lol. My friend had the shrimp plate again we both really enjoyed the batter. There was no way I was going to make it to dessert although I really wanted to try the sweet potato pie, but my friend took a piece of the cobbler to go it looked beautiful and was very hard not to open in the car LOL. When we first sat down they brought us these little cornbread muffins I'd ordered a la carte. I love the sweet cornbread so this is right up my alley. I just wish I could have had 18 of them, okay bad idea LOL. Overall great atmosphere, some serious air conditioning thank you thank you, and there wasn't a single song that played while we ate our late lunch that didn't have us dancing in our seats. We're both planning to come back together and with other people. I know what the G stands for but in our heads from this point forward that g stands for great!
