Bird Bakery

We chose Bird Bakery for our wedding cake and it was by far the best decision ever! After doing a few other tastings elsewhere, we knew BB was our choice after their tasting. We were graciously helped by Ciara, the event coordinator and specialist. She called me and spent a significant amount of time trying to best determine what I envisioned for my cake. I sent her a few inspiration photos that I had found on the internet but told her that I didn’t exactly know how I envisioned the final work. To add, I was also requesting a square tiered cake which they had never done for a wedding cake but were more than happy to make sure they could accommodate. She put together the contract with all the details and when the time came, the bakers and decorators got to work. The day of the wedding came around and I was BLOWN away by the final product. The cake looked even more gorgeous than I could have imagined. Every detail that I had asked for was included. The best part of it all, it didn’t just look good on the outside, it tasted phenomenal too!!! All our guests kept asking where we had gotten the cake and told us they had never had a wedding cake that tasted so good. We opted for a red velvet and cream cheese on the first tier and a vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla frosting on the bottom 2 tiers. To top it all off, the cake was very reasonable priced for everything that it offered. I 100% recommend using Bird Bakery for you wedding cake and all other cake needs….you won’t be disappointed!!! (We added our personalized cake topper that we had made from Etsy for a special touch)

I usually stop at Bird Bakery when I fly in to SA for work. I like to get a sandwich and some sweet things to share. The sandwiches are consistently excellent with well-made bread and tasty combos. You do have to wait a bit for your food but that just means it is made fresh to order! Be sure to stop by and try a few items.

Had an amazing wedding cake. The carrot cake was a hit and we also had the peanut butter cream! Our guests could not stop raving about how good, moist, flavorful they both were! The entire ordering process was quick and easy, I got exactly what I wanted. I'm 100% ordering cake or cupcakes for any occasion.

Went to Bird for the first time this weekend and everything was amazing!! The hibiscus lemonade is DELICIOUS, strawberry cupcake was heavenly, and the key lime pie is the best I’ve ever had honestly. Laura and Andrea were super helpful so the service was great too! Didn’t get to try their lunch, but I will be back soon. YUM! Updating this. Got to eat the chicken salad sandwich and it was so good! Making this one of my go to spots.

One of my favorite spots in town. All of what I have tried here has been delicious. A little bit expensive for pastry items, but you can tell the quality is top notch just from the until taste of their desserts. My favorite non dessert item to get is the spinach artichoke grilled cheese! It is to die for. The atmosphere is also nice, as it is in a nice spot in town!

Giant molasses cookies, salted caramel cupcakes, freshly made sandwiches, and mini pies! Who can ask for anything more! The cookies and cupcakes had the perfect balance of sweetness, flavoring, and spices. The apples in the apple pie were the perfect consistency, not too overcooked and not undercooked. The crust was delicious. I wasn't entirely pleased since it neded a tad more sugar/sweetness. I don't know, maybe I accidentally selected a sugar-free pie... Anyway, the chicken salad sandwich was tasty. But, a bit less mayo or sandwich spread, and processing of the chicken would have made it perfect! I prefer chunky bits of chicken. This was more of a chicken spread. Overall, I was pleased with my first visit. Bird Bakery will definitely be on my list of places to visit to fulfill my sweet tooth and treat craving!

A better than expected gem in the Alamo Heights area. Unfortunately, I didn't get the names of the two lovely ladies who helped me earlier this afternoon, but they made my experience more than pleasant and introduced my taste buds to ingredient combinations I would've never guessed would taste so amazing together in a cookie. And, the tea/lemonade combination was magnificent! I will definitely come back and bring some people with me!

This place has fabulous reviews so I had to give it a try. PLEASE, as a business, list your prices on the menu both in the bakery and online! Here's my hang up, crumbl cookies are huge cookies compared to the ones at Bird Bakery but are surprisingly cheaper. I expect a lot for a $5 cookie and the Bird Bakery cookie flavors were rich - but they were so small. It is really a cute place and I love the aesthetics.
