Review Rebelle - San Antonio

This semi-posh restaurant is located in a hotel at downtown. There are two levels in the restaurant. The first level has a pretty big dining area with the bar located in the middle of the first floor. The second level is a cozy area with some tables and chairs. The restaurant has a romantic vibe with the dim lighting. Despite not having a reservation, I got a table at the second level. Service staff was attentive, and food was served pretty fast. I came here for a light supper. I had the pan-seared diver scallops, teriyaki beef skewers, chocolate chip bread pudding, and a glass of Blood and Sand. The Blood and Sand had the right amount of alcohol. It was perfect. The teriyaki beef skewers were a little chewy but they were seasoned well. The scallops were big, sweet, seared to a nice color, and cooked perfectly. The purée and the peperonata complemented the scallops. Both the scallops and skewers were served slightly under room temperature. It would be great if the dishes were slightly warmer. The chocolate chip bread pudding was sweet and served hot. It was a good dish to end the meal. Overall I had a great dining experience.

Oscar, our waiter, was amazing with suggestions and making sure we had what we needed. The filet was divine and the mussels appetizer was the best I have ever had. The scallops were a small serving but had a nice texture and flavor.

Liv gave us such a warm welcome and guided us throughout our entire meal. Every recommendation from appetizer to drinks and dessert was wonderful. On top of that, we had fun interactions with Tyler as he came by to switch plates and utensils. Phenomenal service and delicious food. Highly recommended!

Food was excellent! The charbroiled oysters were okay.....other than that all rest were amazing. Drinks were good...great options. Prices were okay. Really good experience over all. I expected more but over all it was not a let down. A definite must. 👌🏻

Went here for a Monday celebration meal with my mother. The restaurant is really nice, but can get loud and echoey depending on the other patrons. At one point, I wasn’t even able to hear myself talk. The service was okay but I would not say that it was good. It took a long time for us to get serviced for drink orders and food. Also, my mother accidentally spilled some ice and it the server didn’t even notice to help get it up until we specifically asked him to. He also left suggested tip amounts on the receipt however these amounts were not based on the subtotal, which I thought was tacky and a bit deceiving. As for the food, it was absolutely amazing. The king crab was extremely decadent and satisfying. It was perfectly cooked and tender. Very enjoyable. The mac and cheese and Cesar salad were also quite phenomenal. Overall, I had a good experience, but I’m not sure if I would return after that bizarre service experience.

Went for Happy Hour. Hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas. Liv was our server and was attentive and friendly. Had a few drinks and appetizers. We will be back to try more!

We sadly only had a limited amount of time, but the food and service was excellent. We started with half a dozen east coast oysters which were better than any I have had recently. This was followed by the Deviled eggs which were fantastic. My wife had the Mahi with spinach pudding which she loved. I went with the lobster roll and fries, but also got the veggie of the day which were delicious collards. We will definitely be back when we are in town and not in a hurry. I definitely recommend this place.

Tried the happy hour for the first time. We had the lobster roll for 50% off. It was delicious. Much better than the one we had in Maine!!!

Need to come back! The food was fantastic! The char-grilled oysters were fantastic and the recommendation to dip our bread into the butter they are drizzled with was a great idea. We both had the fillet mignon with the pasta and butternut squash side dishes! The atmosphere is intimate and trendy. We had a table that overlooked the main area and Brennen was our waiter. The only complaint I would say I had was the knives weren't really great to use on the steak so I had to bust out my own. We ordered the key lime pie to go and it was one of the best key lime pies ever. Coming back again to try something different. We also did the valet parking which was free with dinner.

The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was perfect. After eating at the restaurant, you can go down to the lounge or just have a quiet talk in the beautiful lobby. And I noticed there were a few areas that they can hold a wedding or any kind of ceremony or event at as well beautiful just beautiful and last, but not least there valet service was organized and quit.

The best meal of my life, seafood was insanely fresh. Highly recommend sampling as much as you can. There was oysters from different areas that weren’t gritty at all. The Rangoon was absolutely perfect. Not to mention the service was great, thank you Liz ! Also save room for the bread pudding !

We always go to Rebelle when we want to celebrate a special occasion. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. Everything we order is always presented so beautifully and then when you take that first bite it takes our breath away everytime. Then there is the wine collection, there is so much to choose from and if you need help pairing your wine with your entree they are so helpful and nice enough to suggest what goes well together. The waitresses and the manager are so knowledgeable in wine, the taste and feel of it, where it came from, and food pairings. The ambiance is very romantic when eating by candlelight with a mixture of classic and modern for the decor. We will definitely be going back for our date nights and special occasions. Everything is impeccable!

(5 stars reserved for exceptional service or products). This restaurant gets a 5 star from me. We had a late Valentine's date here. First, the hotel: St Anthony's. Magnificent and a beautiful throw back to the glamorous days when Hollywood elite would visit!! Rebelle: The food is excellent, the service was absolutely spot on, and the place is really nice and classy. some have mentioned the lighting as an issue. I like the fusion of classy with some odd lighting. The build out is really nice. We had the Fish Stew that had other crustaceans in it and was excellent! Also had the Pork Chop, which was perfectly seasoned and spiced! The wine selection is pretty darn good as well. Treat yourself and have dinner here. Also, at the time of this review, I was told that the restaurant will validate valet parking. Call first to confirm, but I'm using it next time! :-D

I had dinner with my parents at Rebelle, and was very satisfied with the meal and the service. Our water was Liv, and she was very friendly, attentive, efficient and full of knowledge about the food being served. The food itself was very tasty and so were the cocktails. What surprised me a little was the absence of cappuccino that we could order. Other than that, this restaurant is a solid choice to have dinner at.

We went for a family girl's dinner. Oscar gave us great service. He had lots of recommendations and didn't mind our teasing him. The drinks were good and the food was amazing. The atmosphere was lovely. Can't wait to come back.

Enjoyed a wonderful anniversary here. Thier east coast oysters (raw) were perfect, tomahawk steak (not on menu) was savory. My wife really liked the lobster. Surprised we had room for dessert, but glad we did because the crème brulée and the key lime pie were top notch. Live was very attentive and made us feel special on our anniversary night.

Beautiful decor. Food was amazing. I had the scallops. Martinis were also great according to the others at my table. Did not disappoint. Not overcrowded. Not loud. I didn’t care for the background music though. This is a place to have a romantic dinner. Our waiter was attentive but not pushy. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you want a great meal in San Antonio . So pleased.

The setting of Rebelle Is remarkable. It's within the Saint Anthony Hotel and I believe it used to be a ballroom with a balcony, The menu is high-end eclectic fun, with much of it, especially the starters, intended for sharing. The prices, while high, are reasonable given the ingredients and complexity of the food. From the starters to the entrees to the desserts, all food that was sampled ranked high among everyone in our group of seven. Cocktails were also quite good as was the wine selection. Service was decent. Our group got two checks and then requested payments on a couple of different cards. Instead of the usual split by amount, our server literally split the checks by moving some items onto another check so that the amount would total approximately what we wanted to pay. As many payments as I've split in restaurants (hundreds), I've never seen anything like that and it must have been time consuming for the server. Either their payment system isn't as robust as it should be or the server wasn't thinking clearly. The historic Saint Anthony Hotel has a couple of other bars as well as a cool lobby to explore, along with the world's first automatic door. It's near, but not directly on the city's famous Riverwalk.

Outstanding food throughout the entire menu. Filet mignon melts in your mouth, seafood is fresh and the salads are crisp and tasty. Kind, friendly and knowledgeable servers who are always attentive. The owner (Andrew) is warm and inviting and loves to check in on guests. The decor inside is very unique to any other San Antonio restaurants and the dimer lighting gives a great mood for a casual yet intimate dining experience. The bar on the lower level in the center of the room is such a distinct feature. A true hidden gem in a historic hotel which I highly recommend to all to experience.

Rebelle is an Epicurean experience, in the most classical sense. If you hear anyone discuss the best restaurant in San Antonio, and very near the top of their list isn't Rebelle... find someone else to listen to. The ingredients are deliberately and thoughtfully sourced, and dishes and cocktsils creatively conceived. The service is that perfect dance of never in the way but always there with more than you require. All flawlessly executed. The octopus may be on the menu at all his restaurants(deservedly), but the white cheddar and bacon spread with those surprising caramelized grapes is a revelation! And that Iberico pork? Unlike anything your palate has ever encountered. Buc.Ket.Liiiiii.sssst. James, our server, took joy and pride in sharing knowledge and happiness with our dining experience. San Antonio has no need to let any city shame our culinary cred as long as Rebelle is here.
