Soluna Cocina Mexicana

Ate here mid afternoon on Saturday with party of eight celebrating a birthday. It was busy but still were accommodated quickly. Our server was amazing and being bilingual added to our experience. Food is genuine Mexican and well prepared and visually appealing. It is definitely not Northern New Mexico or Southern Colorado cuisine and still tasty and prepared extremely well. We also took in a birthday cake which they refrigerated for us and brought out along with plates and forks as the gathering ended. First time there would recommend the Poquito De Todo plate which is a sampling of many of their offerings. The only negative appears to be located in a very popular small shops mall and other merchants protect their parking spaces. We were visiting but would hope to eat her again someday.

My first visit to this lovely restaurant where I met up with 3 friends. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and lovely decor. We had very christmassy margaritas which were delicious as we contemplated our meals. I had a grilled poblano pepper stuffed with shredded chicken and mozzarella. Enchiladas and fish tacos were ordered as well. We saved room for dessert so brought half our meals home. Our food was delicious and beautifully plated too. For dessert, we had churros with ice cream, tres leches cake and guava and cream cheese empanada. We shared bites so we could have a little taste of what we each ordered. We were all so happy with our selection of main and dessert. What a lovely place to share a meal with friends! Our waiter was very attentive and accommodating as well.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Soluna Cocina Mexicana in San Antonio with my wife's side of the family, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant provided a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a gathering with loved ones. Our server, Nico, deserves special recognition for his excellent service. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Nico was quick to offer recommendations and ensured that our drinks were promptly refilled throughout the evening. The menu had a wide variety of options, and we decided to try the enchiladas with chicken and cheese, as well as the lobster quesadillas. The enchiladas were a standout, with tender chicken and a generous amount of cheese. The accompanying poblano sauce was a true highlight, impressing my wife with its amazing flavor. While the enchiladas were a hit, we were a bit disappointed with the lobster quesadillas. They turned out to be overly salty, which detracted from our enjoyment. However, this minor hiccup did not overshadow the overall positive experience. Soluna Cocina Mexicana provided a pleasant ambiance that allowed us to relax and enjoy our evening. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the restaurant had a vibrant and lively atmosphere. It was evident that the establishment takes pride in providing a memorable dining experience. Although the lobster quesadillas didn't quite meet our expectations, the fantastic enchiladas and the exceptional service from Nico made up for it. Soluna Cocina Mexicana is definitely worth a visit, especially for those seeking delicious Mexican cuisine in San Antonio. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try, but I would also suggest providing feedback if any issues arise, as they seem receptive to improving their offerings. I look forward to returning to Soluna Cocina Mexicana in the future for another enjoyable dining experience.

Food was terrific! Took my wife there to complete her annual week long birthday celebration. She enjoyed it immensely. I have some friends coming in from out of town and they are planning to spend much of their dining time on the Riverwalk. I would love to bring them here. I believe they would enjoy the experience more at Soluna! BTW, when ordering drinks, request less ice in the chispas drinks.

THERE'S ALWAYS SOMEONE GIVING BAD REVIEWS FOR NO GOOD REASON! the one who said food was bad, and expensive might be used to McDonald's! Anywho, Lived in alamo heights in 2017, (came back 2021 as the hubs retired, but living in alamo ranch) came here several times but always got the same fajita plate, I came last week & same thing lol Today I decided to try the LOBSTER ENCHILADA. THIS did not disappoint! It was delicious! Ive never had an ENCHILADA & definitely ordering again. At 17.00 that is not expensive! My daughter loves the LOBSTER quesidilas! Not expensive either. My husband enjoyed his fajita plate 15.00 again not expensive! I'm not sure how long they marinate their meat, but its so tender old folks with little to no teeth would have no issues chewing the meat on them fajitas lol The severs are great, the busers/server assistance are constantly refilling chips & water never having to ask. They have great outdoor seating area with fans and large trees for great shade. The atmosphere is always pleasant, I wish it was like this in Alamo Ranch. Its way to busy & way to crowded up here & the Mexican food is no where near as good as this. I'd rather come here than Rosarios downtown, or the towers! Highly recommended!
