The restaurant was used to be Bella on the River, they moved to the space right next to Majestic theater in November 2018.
The previous location was too”cozy” to me. This current place makes me feel better.
Food are as good as before,Well seasoned and cooked just right which is very important to seafood dishes.
We were running to see a show, so were in a rush. The waiter was a bit slow, may be he had a bad day or may be not happy that I asked a few more questions.
Overall, it is one of the nicest restaurants in downtown. And it provides convenience to the Majestic theater goers.
Bella on the River was the best experience we have had in San Antonio. Every single dish we had was simply incredible!
We started out with bruschetta which was incredible! An amazing start to our dinner. We then had the Pasta Bella, and the Filet Mignon. Both were delicious but my filet.... I’ve never had such a perfectly cooked steak to my preference that simply melted in my mouth. Wow!
I booked our reservation in advance and had a small request for them to do something for my wife’s birthday. To our surprise, the host recognized her (I told them she was pregnant) and wished her happy birthday right away! Also to my surprise, they generously gave my wife a free desert and put a single candle in her ice cream. It made her very happy.
The ambiance is quite cozy once your ears get accustomed to a louder than average venue.
Our server was very skilled and friendly. Never interrupted us at the wrong time and the timing of the food was perfect. Just like everything we had there. Thank you for everything!
Perfect place for a romantic nice dinner. Food is a little pricey, but worth every penny. Lamb chops that I ordered were outstanding. Leave room for dessert. It was excellent. Make reservation in advance.
Great atmosphere and service, I had the game, she opted for the Redfish, both were memorable. Prices run between $30 & $55 per plate. Ingredients were all fresh, portion size was ample. Restrooms were clean and orderly. Views of the Riverwalk were abundant, outdoor seating is available.
It was such a rainy day and although we had no reservations (First time visiting) the host gladly took us in and we sat by the bar area. This place is exquisite, romantic and a perfect setup for an intimate eatery, with dreamy lighting and jazz music in the background, made me feel like i was in Italy. (never been, but yes I felt I was somewhere else)
My mussels were fresh and delicious. Their veggie salad is to die for, and with their robust wine selection, we were utterly satisfied.
Nice little restaurant, the food was very good. I ordered the Eggplant Josephine and the Paella, both were phenomenal. The waiting staff was friendly and overall a very pleasant experience.
Small place with a great atmosphere. The food is outstanding. Make sure to make a reservation, it is small and fills up fast. Best beef carpaccio I have ever had! I will definitely be back. Great place for a romantic dinner too.
Amazing italian with a twist. The food blew me away, the wine list was excellent. Knowlegable servers and great view. You can't beat this for a date or special occasion
