Bella On Houston

The ambiance was lovely and romantic. The detail of the seating was a wooden beauty. Well the food was totally scrumptious.. I started with a Tempranillo red wine and the mussels appetizer. The chef adds chorizo and safron to the appetizer which makes it taste phenomenal. Then the kale salad which was a perfect small size for a follow on main dish. The salad had some succulent grape halves mixed in which elevated the flavor. It was very tasty. For the main course I chose their signature dish, the 🥘 paella. You will not regret to try the paella oh my goodness what delicious plate. I will have to return for a little bit more of everything. Happy eating everyone )

The restaurant was used to be Bella on the River, they moved to the space right next to Majestic theater in November 2018. The previous location was too”cozy” to me. This current place makes me feel better. Food are as good as before，Well seasoned and cooked just right which is very important to seafood dishes. We were running to see a show, so were in a rush. The waiter was a bit slow, may be he had a bad day or may be not happy that I asked a few more questions. Overall, it is one of the nicest restaurants in downtown. And it provides convenience to the Majestic theater goers.

It was such a rainy day and although we had no reservations (First time visiting) the host gladly took us in and we sat by the bar area. This place is exquisite, romantic and a perfect setup for an intimate eatery, with dreamy lighting and jazz music in the background, made me feel like i was in Italy. (never been, but yes I felt I was somewhere else) My mussels were fresh and delicious. Their veggie salad is to die for, and with their robust wine selection, we were utterly satisfied.
