Good Mexican Food
This is a close local restaurant that we visit quite often. Great Mexican food and friendly owner. Their house margaritas are very tasty as well as their smothered burritos.
The best Mexican food in SLC hands down love this place Nancy at the west valley location is the best there are many items on the menu and I have had most of them, never been disappointed thank you cafe Silvestre and for the record the location on 3300s has never been a pizza hut location some peoples ignorance astonishes me
There are many ways to experience Mexican food. I was looking for a quiet place where I could fire off some work email while hopefully enjoying some decent food. I found Cafe Silvestre was exactly what I was looking for. The food was flavorful, the service friendly and efficient. Yes, the dining room is quiet, so you will hear other diners talking about their favorite TV show and their relationships. If you prefer hip and loud, Cafe Rio is right next door. I like Cafe Rio, but wanted a different dining experience and this was just perfect. This is Americanized Mexican food served on stoneware plates. I think my enchilada, side of rice, chips and salsa came up to something like $5.66 + tip, which I was happy to pay to my courteous and attentive server.
I love Cafe Silvestre! It is an unassuming place with delicious, hot, fresh food and good service. The enchiladas are flavorful, the smothered burritos are hearty and satisfying. I've been going there for years and it has always been consistently good. It's the best little Mexican cafe in town.
Like it!. It's been a while, but I used to eat there all of the time. Really good food, and the service was always good.
WOW!. Love this place. Get the small combo. There is nothing small about it. Smothered chile verde burrito, hard shell taco and enchaladas for under $10. I will always recommend it here.
Cafe Silvestre may get lost amid other mexican resturants in the area but it is worth the visit. The food is good, home made, yep. The service was great.
This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in SLC. I’m here multiple times a month, sometimes by myself, sometimes with the whole fam, sometimes just grabbing take out. We’re here often enough that all the servers know us. My favorite item is the smothered burrito (and add the cheese and onions!). Seriously, their green chili is AMAZING.

The owner is incredibly nice, and always makes you feel welcome. The food is really good, especially the chips and salsa!
I love the chicken enchiladas everything has so much flavor it make my mouth water thinking of this place anytime I'm not there. They have the best chips and salsa I have ever had anywhere period!

Smaller and different menu but still great choices. Cozy, quiet, and a great date spot.
This place is our weeknight go-to for good value, yummy traditional Mexican fare. The chili colorado is especially great. We can always count on the friendly faces of the wait staff, and to leave very satisfied. I also appreciate that it is a local establishment, not a big chain.

Handled our group of 27 very well! Only one waitress basically for all of us, but she's a pro! Others helped out some. She was amazing! Great food. Great prices! Limited menu because of our group size, which I liked. We made a reservation.
Excellent experience. Safety minded, friendly and respectful service and the food was perfect! Plates were hot and cheese sizzling when the food came out.
Of the 6 or 7 mexican restaurants in east Holladay/Millcreek cafe silvestre is currently winning. Beans were flavorful, portions were good and price was $1-2 less than others in the area. Simple menu and the salsa and chips were delish!!!

Been going here for over 10 years. Started at a different location but it closed. Chips and salsa are some of my favorite. Prices are very good. I love the food, my husband didn't like it as much. The building is old and the parking lot small but it's clean.
