Review Sugarhouse Barbeque Company - Salt Lake City

Went today just off the cuff. Ordered the Brisket, and a Brisket sandwich. Excellent! Nice little selection of sauces too. I prefer the Musturd type. And for those of you who understand...I lime the "Q" here sign

Gluten-Free options! My dad requires to eat GF and they have an amazing GF carrot cake. I also shared a butter toffee-like cake with my sister. Yummy. They serve the meat without any sauces and you add what you like. The sauces are left on the table. Bbq, mustard, etc. The sides were classic and good. The corn bread is also GF, it was a little dry and I wished we had honey. I think I could have gone up to counter and asked for it. Lots of seating. The staff were great. Helpful and friendly. They have a smaller parking lot, but that's not surprising considering where they are located.

We had Sugarhouse BBQ cater our sons wedding this past weekend. Everything was delivered hot and delicious! The crowd favorite was definitely the brisket and jambalaya! So good! They delivered right on time and set everything up without any issues. Thanks for an amazing experience! We will be back!

After calling Texas home for a long time, I’m pretty hesitant with BBQ places. You do not need to worry about SugarHouse BBQ. It has a great menu and rich smoky flavor without being over powering. Best baked beans I’ve ever had!!

Food was delicious, the meat was super tender fall right off the bone. The sides were pretty amazing as well, potatoe salad but a little tangy but good. Overall great first time experience, also they gentleman that helped us out was great! Definitely 10 on customer service. We'll definitely be back.

We had the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork and they were all good. The meat had great flavor and I liked the sauce too. The fries were awesome and so were the Greek potatoes. The other sides we tried were just okay and really small. The service however was excellent.

This is one of the best place to have Ribs in Salt Lake City. Their Ribs, Pulled Pork and Brisket was fresh and tender. I fully recommend this restaurant because they deliver a good product. Cheers from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

I took my kids out for dinner here and we really loved it. The Memphis style rubs are tasty and the meats are smoked perfectly. We especially loved the ribs and the chicken wings. Amazing bread pudding rounded out our meal. Truly delicious and the employees are really friendly and helpful.

This place was pretty good as far as Utah barbeque goes. I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was very nice. The flavor was good, but it was a little bit on the dry side until you add sauce to it. The other people in my group got the chopped beef, and a chicken sandwich. So I got to try a bit of both of those, and they were also pretty good.

The 1/4 chicken is one of my favorites. Along with the bbq beans and cornbread. With the mustard and vinegar sauces one can never go wrong. Not to mention the bbq sauce as well. Great service too. They are typically surprisingly quick to bring the food out to your table. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Hard to go wrong with anything you get though. Over the years I have tried everything. Even their thanksgiving family meal that I did one year was amazing.

So this is what barbecue is supposed to taste like? My mind is blown! I can't believe that this is the first time we've been here. The staff was wonderful and the gentleman helping us knew a lot which it makes me think that he might be the owner? The half slab I chose would have been completely fine without the barbecue sauce on top. It is that good! You can taste the delicious rub. The fries, Mac and cheese and corn bread were all delicious as well. They have Pepsi for soft drinks which made me happy. The location is super cool on the inside and you can smell the food from miles away. I'm a fan and can't wait to come back and try the chicken as he mentioned it was pretty popular as well. Keep it up SugarHouse BBQ!

Best smoked ribs in Utah, fries better than five guys, could use more sauce options but what they have is decent.

I really liked my ribs, salad & corn muffin. They were delicious! My husband said his macaroni and cheese was dry as was his Bourbon Street Jambalaya. He wishes he had chosen the ribs which is their specialty. When we go back he will definitely have ribs.

Service was prompt, helpful, and very friendly! Tables, booths, and bathrooms were clean. I ordered the marbled brisket sandwich with a side of fries, both of which were awesome. Brisket was very soft and smoky, it was well complemented by their different sauces. The fries were crispy, smooth, and well-seasoned. Will definitely come back when in the mood for BBQ!

I love the Sugarhouse BBQ Company! They have always treated me well and are allowing me to do a live for my online show this Friday November 3rd. Food is fantastic, people and atmosphere are first rate! I would highly recommend going if you are looking for a place to eat BBQ in the SLC area!

The jambalaya is wonderful!!! I usually get ribs and pulled pork but thought i would try this and was not disappointed ... Totally have a new favorite!! Salad, house dressing, and pecan pie never disappoints.

Delicious BBQ the sides this time were not as good as a couple years ago when I last went. That day everything was amazing. Really suggest there smoked sausage Boss's loved there ribs and wings

Overall it was okay. I had the brisket/pulled pork with potato salad and collard greens. The brisket was okay...a bit dry, though. The pulled pork was good...not sure why I only had a little bit of brisket but nearly a third of a plate's worth of pulled pork. The potato salad was good. The collard greens tasted like they were cooked with a salt lick, seriously WAY too salty...and this coming from someone who does like salt (I did not add any to the greens). I thought it peculiar that they did not offer BBQ sausage/links. Strange. I am curious to try the wings/rib tips plate and I will come back again.

This was the first time in years that I have been truly disappointed with Sugarhouse BBQ! The restaurant was out of wings and was told I could wait 45 minutes for new ones. The wings are the best thing on the menu, so anything else would be a huge letdown. The new GF cornbread muffins are disgusting! I understand that Sugarhouse is a hipster’s paradise, but my god, put the gluten back in! The Greek Oven Roasted Potatoes were way too garlicky and the ribs were tough and chewy. The chicken was flavorless and dry. The jambalaya and buffalo chicken were okay, but for $50+, I expected better! Unless things change, I won’t be coming back.

Definitely the star in BBQ Heaven, unless you can get to Kreuz's in TX, or Rudy's in New Mexico! I have my favorites here, no doubt. 'Wet' brisket (cut off the fatty end), cherry wood smoked wings, smoked turkey, and, did I mention the brisket?! Their potato salad and coleslaw are nothing spectacular, but their cornbread stuffing is killer, as well as their collard greens. One reviewer said they were too salty, and they can get that way after the lunch rush. Simply ask for a replacement order. They're VERY accommodating. I'm not a fan of their cornbread either, at least, not with 'Que. Too cakey, but it's just a personal preference. Now. The piéce d'resistance of any restaurant I've EVER been to on 3 continents and 8 islands are SHBBQ's FRENCH FRIES!! Bar none, the best. Double fried, skin-on russets that will make you wake up craving them at 3a.m.! I've been known to just get an order of fries to go---no, I always get the brisket too. The ribs and other meats have a through and through smokey flavor that doesn't disguise the original meat. A couple other highly touted que places have meats that are indescernable as to their original critter. Not here. The quality of their meats shines through--smokey rich flavor and great house-made sauces. They have daily specials, and links (as in sausage) on certain days. Also, some of the best gumbo and jumbalaya West of N'awlins. Super reasonable prices, and with such big portions, you'll have a great lunch the next day too!

Not very good , my brisket was dry as hell and not very much flavor my collard greens was super super salty , and the sides are tiny as hell like literally the baked beans was like 4 bites end it was finished mashed potatoes seemed like a mashed up baked patatoe the best part about all of our food was the fries

First timw there. The ribs I got were barely ribs. Two of them had bones that were about an inch long. The other two ribs were about two inches with tons of gristle. The meat was so dry and tough it was inedible. I did say something. They offered to make a meat substitute. What? Then they said I had gotten the end of a rack. You know, any self-respecting chef would never had let that tray leave the kitchen. Their fries were good, and the salad was okay but the bleu cheese dressing was so watered down it just ran all over and was tasteless. Funny that mt sis and I had just been talking about how bad este pizza was. Turns out it's run by the same people. Would never recommend this place.

The best BBQ I've ever had! I got a 1/3 rack of ribs and that was plenty for me. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the portion size. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes BBQ.

This was a great find. Me and my hubby had no idea what we were walking into but we are glad we found it. I had the best jambalaya and my hubby had the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were A+. We will be going back
Ana Mizrahi
I had the brisket /turkey with mashed potato and coleslaw. My hubby had brisket and all the meat was extremely dry. Never going back there again.

Very good food and friendly service. Highly recommend reasonably priced which you do not see very often anymore

This is fantastic Memphis style BBQ!! To all those who claim their food is dry...it's because the food is meant to put one of the four sauces (right there on the table) on your meats. Do it right and I promise you, it will truly be enjoyed...

Worst ever...food and service. Dry, dry, Dry! Burnt, burnt, burnt...abd they didn't really care.
